Parable: A earthly story with a heavenly meaning.
I feel a strong leading to share this story today. I pray it bless' each of you.
There was once a beautiful Princess & it came that she found it time that she should marry to give her kingdom a Prince. But no man was greater than she. She was beautiful w/ long flowing blonde hair that touched her heels. She was so intelligent & very athletic. So one day the wise men of her Kingdom proclaimed a foot race between the Beautiful Princess & any man that desired to have her as his wife. Men young & old came from all around seeking to win. Each was brought before her that she may see who might have her hand. She sat in her tower & say no man will beat me i will never marry what am I to do??? Then came a man soooo ugly! He was cross-eyed, knocked kneed, pigeon toed, crooked nose, pimle faced, w/3 greasy strings of hair. When he was brought b4 the Princess she became sick & then said oh ### you are soooo ugly. She had her servants bring a brown paper bag, they cut 4 holes in the bag 1 for the 3 hairs, 2 for his crossed eyes, & 1 for his crooked nose. She said this is not to be removed!!
Then the day came for the big race for the BP's hand in marriage. They all stood on the starting line, all but ### that was but here he came oh Ugly ### w/his knock knees, pigeon toed, cross eyes, crooked nose, pimpled face & 3 greasy hairs. She laughed @ him & said Ugly ### u have no chance, back out of the race. He said Beautiful Princess I will be your Prince. Then the gun fired & the race was on. There went the Princess she was in the lead from the start. As the race continued she was so far ahead she was confident no one would be her now for sure.
So she began to let some pass her having in mind she would get back in the race & beat them all in a great finish. But when ol' Ugly ### passed the Princess he had a plan. As he tried his best to run with those knock knees, & piegon toes, cross eye vision, w/ his lil' brown paper bag on his greasy head he gained ground & when he did he pulled a Golden apple out of his pocket. Knowing that the Beautiful Princess would want to posses it. He let it roll down the dirt track the race was on & kept going. The BP came walking by a lil' later when the sun hit the GA & caught her eye. Oh my oh me how beautiful this apple is as beautiful as me. All the while Ugly ### was still going & then he stopped, he pulled out a second Golden apple he let this one roll down the side of the road. And off he was again.
The BP was so impressed by the 1st apple she began to want another one. She was looking as she walked fast now. & there it was the 2nd 1. She sat down & began to polish her GAs with her shirt, once again Ugly ### was still moving, he pulled a 3rd GA He rolled it into a field of flowers by the way side & kept going. The BP was so impressed by this time she was desparatly looking for a 3rd GA, not on the road, nor by the way side she began to look in the field of flowers near by.
She looked & looked and finally there it was! She sat & polished her 3rd GA & was sooo tired from her search laid down & took a nap. When she awoke it was dusk ran & ran as fast as she could, when she reached the finish line there were so many that had finished b4 her so would now be her Prince??? Old Ugly ### stepped up & said my Princess as he removed his paper bag.
Moral of the story is she allowed lil' shiney things to defeat her by distracting her.
I do not know all there is to know but I do know this 1 thing I have to forget the things behind me & reach for the things in front of me. I press for the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Jesus.
So let us run this race with preserverance Looking to Jesus the starter & finisher of our Faith.
You know some of us are in the race alright but the Lord said You did run well, so who has hinder you that you don't obey the word???
Satan can distract us & also delay answered prayers in this race. Even when we run well we must be watchful not to become hindered by the things of this world. God created Satan & not to give him glory in any way but he has a plan. Just like Ugly ###. He sets traps for us. The word of God tells us these things. The Lord has given us all we need to be victorious. HIS WORD!!!!
