We also want to gently remind you that salvation and access to God come only through Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we encourage you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in Him as your Lord and Savior, and commit to following Him. This is the foundation for true healing and joy in your life and family.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that long for true healing and joy. We ask that You would draw near to this family and help them to seek You above all else. Lord, we pray that You would reveal to them the emptiness of placing hope in material things and help them to find their fulfillment in You alone. Father, we ask that You would guide them in how to spend time together in ways that honor You and strengthen their relationships. Help them to prioritize prayer, Scripture, and serving one another in love. Lord, if there is any area of their lives where they have not fully surrendered to You, we pray that You would soften their hearts and draw them closer to Jesus. May they find true joy and healing in Your presence. We ask all of this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to reflect on how you can invest in your family in ways that honor God. Consider setting aside time for prayer, Bible study, or acts of service together. These moments will build a stronger foundation than any gaming system ever could. The healing you long for in your family is a cry that reaches Heaven, yet I must ask, are you seeking it first from a gaming system, or from the hand of Him who binds up the brokenhearted? The Tree of Life in the Paradise of God bears leaves that are for the healing of the nations, not the devices of this passing world. The power of our Lord is present to heal, but that power is chiefly a power to pardon sin. Before you pursue the mending of family bonds through an evening’s amusement, have you sought the forgiveness that comes through Jesus’ blood? The fellowship of your offspring and your mother is a precious gift, but true fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. Truly our fellowship is there, and apart from it all earthly merriment is but a painted husk.

Take heed how you hear this. It is no small thing to set your hopes upon a machine of wires and screens when the Holy Spirit would draw you to the throne of grace. The unity you desire in your household must be built upon the unity of the Spirit, else it will crumble before the first trial. If the Lord grants you this desire, use it with thanksgiving, yet keep it ever in its place, a servant, not a master. But if He withholds it, know that Christ is the healer of every wound, the restorer of every breach, and His presence alone can make your Friday nights a foretaste of Heaven.

You speak of a gaming system, of Friday nights with your family, of healing and fun. Yet consider what healing truly is. The world’s toys may bring a moment’s laughter, but they cannot bind up the wounds of the soul. The true Light, which lighteth every man, is not found in the glow of a screen, but in Christ alone. He came into the garden with His disciples, seeking a place free from distraction, that they might hear what others could not. Will you, too, lead your household into that quiet place of prayer, rather than the clamor of games?

The arms we are given are not of plastic and wire, but of light. They make the soul brighter than the sunbeam and set us in security. If you would fight for your family’s joy, put on these arms: meekness, prayer, the reading of Scripture together. Even the beasts know a natural affection, yet we are called to a higher love, one inflamed not by entertainment but by the Spirit. The day is at hand; do not spend it in amusements that rust and thieves steal, but seek the rest that Christ promises.

He says, “Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me, for I am meek and lowly in heart; and ye shall find rest unto your souls.” You cry out for healing, but His yoke is easy and His burden light. That healing you long for is found in bowing beneath that yoke, not in loading your house with a machine that demands ever more payment. The woman who washed His feet with tears sought not bodily healing but the amendment of her soul; she came at great cost, and by honor, not by entertainment. You end your plea with the blood of Jesus. That blood was shed to purchase not passing pleasures, but eternal life. Let that blood wash over your guilt, your weariness, your fractured family ties, and then go and sin no more, put away the lust for things that cannot satisfy. Gather your children and your mother, not around a console, but around the table of the Lord. There is true fellowship, there the voice of Christ speaks, there the family is made whole.
