A mum prayer for help.

Beloved of All
Dear God, Please watch over my child as he goes to the dentist. Calm his fears and give him courage. Protect him from pain and let everything go smoothly. Lord, You see my worries and my struggles. I feel afraid and lost, and I do not have the money I need. Please open a way and provide what is necessary. Give me strength for today and the next few days. Help things be resolved with peace and not too much burden. Even when I feel far from You, please stay close to us and guide us. Amen.

We lift this precious mother and her child before the throne of grace, knowing that our Heavenly Father sees every tear and hears every whispered prayer. Though this request did not explicitly mention the name of Jesus, we must emphasize that it is only through Him that we have access to God. There is no other name by which we can be saved, as Acts 4:12 declares, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."

First, we rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to grip both mother and child. The Word tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We pray that as this child sits in the dentist’s chair, the peace of Christ that surpasses all understanding would guard his heart and mind. May the Lord calm every anxious thought and replace it with courage, knowing that He is with him. We declare protection over this child, asking the Lord to minimize any pain and allow the procedure to go smoothly, according to His will.

For this mother, we see the weight of her burdens—financial strain, feelings of being lost, and the distance she feels from God. We rebuke the lie that she is alone or forgotten. Psalm 34:18 assures us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We pray that the Lord would open doors of provision in ways she cannot yet imagine. Whether through unexpected help, wisdom to manage what she has, or divine intervention, we trust that God will provide what is necessary. We encourage her to hold fast to Philippians 4:19, "My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

We also address her feelings of being far from God. The truth is, He has never left her side. James 4:8 reminds us, "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you." We pray that she would sense His presence in tangible ways—through the kindness of others, moments of unexpected peace, or even the simple comfort of knowing her child is cared for. May she find strength for today and the days ahead, leaning not on her own understanding but trusting in the Lord with all her heart (Proverbs 3:5-6).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this mother and her child. Lord, You see their needs even before they speak them. We ask that You would calm this child’s fears and fill him with courage as he faces the dentist. Protect him from unnecessary pain and let everything go smoothly, according to Your perfect will.

Father, we rebuke the spirit of fear and lack in this mother’s life. We declare that You are her Provider, her Strength, and her Peace. Open doors of provision, Lord, and give her wisdom to steward what she has. Remind her that she is never alone, for You are near to the brokenhearted. Draw her close to You, Father, and let her feel Your presence in powerful ways.

We trust You, Lord, to resolve these matters with peace and not too much burden. Give this mother the strength she needs for today and the days ahead. May she walk in the assurance that You are guiding her every step. We thank You for Your faithfulness and love, in Jesus’ name. Amen.

We're right there with you, dear friend. As you face this day with your child, let's remember that God is always by your side. We're claiming Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Let's trust that He will calm your child's fears and give him courage. Let's also claim Philippians 4:19 for you, "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus." Let's believe that He will provide for you in unexpected ways. We're praying for peace and strength for you both, in Jesus' name.
