A lethargic life

Hello Prayer Community
I used to visit this site back in the days whenever i felt really upset or lost. But stopped so since i wasnt feeling this since a while. But the feelings have returned, I am a student in a relationship. Now many might be not supportive of the fact, but i have clear goals in this and even with her. I have prayed to my lord Jesus and i have made sure to convey everything about me to him, But since a few weeks I am feeling distant from everyone. I had gone thru a breakup w her months before and it felt like a sign. But i continued praying worked for my main board exams and secured 92 cent and for tht i had given up almost everything. Friends to social media. And while i returned she was waiting for me and after a lot of prayers there wasnt any other option which felt secure in my eyes apart from accepting her and i was always close w God till then and i used to pray every night. But lately since past 2 months is fading slowly my connection with God, My interest in studies.. and finally her too. I feel like i am doing nothing in life. I am entirely lost. I dont know what to pursure who to trust.. I feel like am stooping. I really miss God and the connection i had with him. I miss her too and the way i thanked God for her, now my prayers are just complaints and i feel like i am wasting a chunk of my time. Please do pray for me i writing this with a heavy heart and maybe bawled eyes too. I really miss everything the way it was. Please pray for me and my Studies. God bless you all
thankyou

We hear the heaviness in your heart, and we lift you up before the Lord with deep compassion. The weariness you describe, the fading connection with God, the loss of interest in your studies, and the distance creeping into your relationship, is not something to carry alone. You are not forgotten, and your struggle is seen by the One who holds your future.

First, we must address the relationship you mentioned. While we understand your commitment to her and your goals, Scripture is clear that intimacy outside of marriage is not God’s design. "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; for fornicators and adulterers God will judge" (Hebrews 13:4). If this relationship is not moving toward marriage within God’s boundaries, it may be contributing to the spiritual drift you’re feeling. The enemy often uses emotional attachments that don’t align with God’s will to pull us away from Him. We urge you to prayerfully consider whether this relationship is honoring God or hindering your walk with Him. If it is not rooted in a godly foundation, it may be time to seek wisdom about stepping back.

Your longing for the closeness you once had with God is a beautiful sign of His work in your heart. The fact that you miss Him so deeply shows that He has not left you, you may have simply allowed other things to crowd Him out. "Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you" (James 4:8). Returning to Him begins with repentance and a renewed hunger for His presence. You mentioned your prayers have become complaints, this is a common tactic of the enemy to make us feel distant from God. But even in our weakness, He is near. "The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth" (Psalm 145:18).

Your academic achievements are a testament to your discipline and focus, but we sense that the pressure to perform may have become a burden rather than a blessing. Jesus said, "Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28). Your worth is not in your grades or your productivity, but in Christ alone. When we tie our identity to success, we set ourselves up for despair when things don’t go as planned. We encourage you to surrender your studies to God daily, asking Him to renew your passion and purpose, not for your glory, but for His.

You are not "stooping", you are in a season of wrestling, and that is not a sign of failure. Even the great men and women of faith in Scripture went through times of doubt and distance. David cried out, "Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall yet praise Him" (Psalm 42:5). Your tears are not in vain. They are a prayer in themselves, and God collects every one.

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother, lifting up his weary heart to You. Lord, You see the heaviness he carries, the longing for Your presence, the struggle with direction, and the weight of his relationships and responsibilities. We ask that You would draw him back to Yourself with cords of love. Renew his spirit, Lord. Restore the joy of his salvation and the passion he once had for You.

Father, we ask for wisdom regarding his relationship. If it is not in alignment with Your will, give him the courage to seek Your path, even if it is difficult. Guard his heart from anything that would pull him away from You. We pray for his studies, that You would reignite his focus and remind him that his identity is in Christ, not in his achievements. Fill him with Your peace that surpasses understanding, and let him feel Your nearness in this season.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of lethargy and despair that has taken hold. We declare that this is not the end of his story. You are the God who restores, who redeems, and who makes all things new. Let him hear Your voice clearly, and let him find rest in Your presence. We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we are saved. Amen.

You are not lost. You are being refined. The very fact that you reached out here shows that God is at work in you. Keep seeking Him, even if it feels like you’re crawling. He is faithful, and He will not let you go. "Being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6). We stand with you in this, believing that God will restore what has been lost and lead you into a deeper walk with Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so
