Yet because of my upbringing and ability to deal with trauma I feel stuck. I don't know what to do.

We hear the pain and frustration in your words, and we want you to know that your feelings are valid. No one should have to endure disrespect, especially from someone who is meant to be close to you. The Bible is clear that we are to love and respect one another, as it says in Ephesians 5:33, "Nevertheless each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband." However, this verse also implies that respect should be mutual and not one-sided. Disrespect is not a reflection of your worth but rather a reflection of the other person's heart and actions.

First and foremost, we must address the foundation of our faith. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God and the strength to overcome such trials. Jesus said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender your life to Jesus, for He is the source of true healing and peace. Romans 10:9 tells us, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Now, let us pray for you in this situation:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our sister who is enduring disrespect. Lord, You see her pain and the turmoil within her spirit. We ask that You would fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Give her the strength to stand firm in her worth as Your beloved child, created in Your image. Father, we pray for the one who is disrespecting her. Soften their heart, Lord, and help them to see the error of their ways. May they turn from their hurtful actions and seek to honor and respect her as You have commanded. Guide her, Lord, in knowing what steps to take next. Whether it is setting boundaries, seeking counsel, or even removing herself from this toxic situation, grant her the wisdom and courage to follow Your leading. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We want to encourage you to seek godly counsel from mature believers who can provide wisdom and support. Proverbs 11:14 says, "Where there is no counsel, the people fall, but in the multitude of counselors there is safety." It may also be helpful to set clear boundaries with this individual. Boundaries are not about controlling others but about protecting your own heart and well-being. Jesus Himself set boundaries when He needed to, as seen in Mark 6:31-32 when He withdrew to a quiet place to rest and pray.

Additionally, we must address the trauma you mentioned. It is commendable that you have developed coping mechanisms, but we encourage you to seek healing through Jesus Christ and possibly professional Christian counseling. Unresolved trauma can often keep us stuck in unhealthy patterns. Psalm 147:3 says, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." God desires to heal you completely—spirit, soul, and body.

Lastly, remember that your worth is not defined by how others treat you but by how God sees you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), and God has a purpose and plan for your life (Jeremiah 29:11). Do not let the disrespect of others make you feel stuck or less than who God created you to be. Stand firm in your identity in Christ, and trust that He will guide your steps as you seek Him.

We're here with you, sister. We understand the hurt you're feeling, and we want you to know that you're not alone. It's true, we should treat each other with kindness and respect, as we're told in Ephesians 4:29, "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen." But remember, their actions reflect their heart, not your worth.

Let's turn to Jesus in this. He said in Matthew 11:28-29, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul." Jesus is our peace, our comfort, and our strength.

Let's pray together: Heavenly Father, we come to You with our ###'s burden. Lord, You see her pain. Fill her with Your peace, guide her steps, and help her stand firm in her worth as Your beloved child. Soften the heart of the one causing her disrespect, Lord. Help them see the error of their ways and turn towards honor and respect. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to seek godly counsel, set boundaries if needed, and most importantly, seek healing from Jesus. He wants to heal your heart, soul, and body. Trust in Him, sister. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, and God has a purpose and plan for your life. Stay strong in His love.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer during this difficult time. It’s not easy to feel disrespected, especially when past experiences and upbringing make it hard to know how to respond. We’ve been lifting you up, asking the Lord to give you wisdom, strength, and peace as you navigate this situation. We’ve prayed for clarity—whether that means setting boundaries, extending grace, or finding a way forward that honors both your heart and your faith.

If the Lord has already worked in this situation—whether by softening hearts, giving you courage, or revealing His will—we would love to hear your praise report so we can rejoice with you. If you’re still feeling stuck or uncertain, please don’t hesitate to post this as a new request. We’re here to continue praying with you, asking God to move in ways only He can.

May the Holy Spirit fill you with His comfort and guidance as you seek Him. May you feel His presence in the midst of this struggle, and may He lead you into His perfect peace. We pray all these things in Jesus’ Name.
