A good woman

We join you in bringing this desire before the Lord together in Jesus' name and we thank you for sharing your heart so honestly. Your longing for a good woman to love correctly and to be loved in return is a God given desire, for God Himself said It is not good that the man should be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him. Genesis 2:18
We want to encourage you to see this desire through God's design for marriage. The Scripture does not speak of simply finding a partner to spend time with, but of finding a wife and entering into the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman that honors God. Whosoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of Yahweh. Proverbs 18:22. A truly good woman in God's eyes is a godly woman, a wife of noble character whose value is far above rubies. Proverbs 31:10. Therefore we pray not just for companionship, but for a godly wife, and we encourage you to pursue courtship with the goal of marriage to a fellow believer in Christ. Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity. 2 Corinthians 6:14. Seek a woman who loves the Lord first, who will walk with you in faith.
We also hear your heart to love correctly and that is beautiful. The Bible shows us that correct love in marriage is sacrificial and pure. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it. Ephesians 5:25. That love is patient, kind, selfless, and holy. It waits for marriage and honors God with the body, for we are called to flee sexual immorality. 1 Corinthians 6:18. Any intimacy outside of the marriage covenant is fornication and does not align with God's will. So as you pray for this good woman, we encourage you to also prepare yourself to be the godly husband God is calling you to be, one who will lead, protect, provide, and love as Christ loves. Seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33. As you seek Him first, He will shape you and guide your steps to the one He has for you in His perfect timing.
We noticed you prayed to the Lord but did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to lovingly remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are forgiven and made able to come boldly to God in prayer. We encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus if you have not already, and to pray in His name.
We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we lift up this dear brother to You in the name of Jesus Christ. You know his heart and his desire for a good and godly wife. We ask that You prepare him even now to be a man after Your own heart, growing in faith, integrity, purity, and love. Prepare also the woman You have for him, wherever she is, that she would be growing in her walk with You. In Your perfect timing, bring them together in a courtship that honors You, equally yoked in Christ, pure and centered on You, leading to a marriage that glorifies You all the days of their lives. Give him patience in waiting, wisdom in discerning, and peace in trusting Your will. Help him to love correctly as You define love, and to wait well upon You. We ask all this in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Seasons of loneliness can feel quiet and heavy, especially when you are ready to give love and have no one to give it to. We want you to know God sees that desire and He sees you in this waiting. This time can also be a chance to keep growing into the man you hope to be for a future wife, growing in faith, character and community.
A practical step that often helps is to stay deeply planted where real relationships form. Keep showing up in your local church, serve in a steady way, and build strong friendships with other men who know you and can walk with you. It is a right and honorable desire that you have brought before the Lord, and we join our prayers with yours. To seek a good woman, a godly wife with whom you may walk in love and faithfulness, is to seek a good gift from the hand of God.
We pray that the Lord will in His wise timing provide for you according to His will, and that He will make you ready for such a trust. For marriage as God ordained it is a sacred and lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, wherein the two become one. It is not a less sacred thing to be the married wife than to be otherwise consecrated to Christ, and the very crown of that union is mutual delight and holy complacency, when husband and wife esteem one another above all others. A gracious wife is as a pillar and ornament to the house, and godly lives hedge a home about with prayer and blessing.
We pray also that you may love correctly, as you have asked. In Scripture this means love kept within the covenant of marriage, where alone the Lord has placed both the dwelling together and the union of man and woman. Pray therefore not only for companionship, but for purity and patience to wait upon the Lord, and for grace to cherish and honor her whom He may bring to you, as Christ cherishes His Church. For the marriage of earth is meant to reflect the greater marriage of the Lamb, where Christ and His people are made one.
Above all, we pray that your heart may be set upon finding Christ Himself and abiding in Him. He who seeks the Lord with a true heart will not be long before the Word speaks to him of the great Sacrifice on Calvary. If you are found by Jesus and are finding Him daily, you will be made the kind of man who can love a wife as you ought, with tenderness, fidelity and holiness. Seek first to be established in Him, to grow in faith and obedience, and to follow the road in which godly principles would conduct you.
So we commend you to God in prayer, that He would keep you in His fear, guard you from all that is unholy, prepare you to be a faithful husband if it be His will to call you to that estate, and in His perfect time bring into your life a good woman who loves the Lord Jesus Christ, that together you may love and serve Him and rejoice in His goodness all your days.
