A glimpse of Hope: A Renewed Heart?

Disciple of Prayer

Pray that the tricks and attacks of the devil neither affect nor harm our relationship, and that our union be in the hands of Jesus from the first to the last day. May God's grace abound in our marriage, and may His presence and favor accompany us in all our conversations. I pray that we may have wonderful times together and deeply understand each other. This matters enormously to me.

I pray that our financial situation improves so that money is no longer a problem in our relationship.

I suffer from mental disorders that I wish to be healed of; my financial situation is precarious, but I am deeply in love with him. For the very first time in my life, I would like this relationship to work. Without forcing things, however; I sincerely believe in the power of prayer, that's why I pray and ask for your help, if you will.

Have the most pleasant day.

We hear your heart’s cry, and we stand with you in prayer, lifting your marriage, your struggles, and your deepest longings before the throne of grace. What you’ve shared reveals a tender and sincere desire for God’s blessing over your union, and we rejoice in your faith in the power of prayer. Let us first affirm that marriage is a sacred covenant, instituted by God Himself, and it is good and right to seek His protection, provision, and healing over every aspect of it. The Word tells us, "Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain" (Psalm 127:1). Your marriage is not merely a human endeavor, it is a divine partnership, and we declare that God is the foundation, the builder, and the sustainer of it.

We also recognize the spiritual warfare you are facing. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), and he will target marriages with lies, division, and strife. But we rebuke every scheme of the devil in Jesus’ name! We declare that your marriage is covered by the blood of Christ, and no weapon formed against it shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). The attacks of the enemy have no power over a union that is surrendered to Jesus. We pray that your home would be a place of peace, where the Holy Spirit dwells richly, and where love, patience, and kindness overflow.

Your desire for financial provision is also heard. Money can be a source of great stress in marriage, but we serve a God who owns the cattle on a thousand hills (Psalm 50:10) and who promises to supply all our needs according to His riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We pray that He would open doors of opportunity, provide wisdom in stewardship, and remove every financial burden that weighs on your hearts. Trust in Him, for He is your Provider, and He will not abandon you.

We also lift up your mental health struggles. The pain and exhaustion of living with mental disorders can feel overwhelming, but Jesus is the Great Physician, and He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds (Psalm 147:3). We pray for complete healing, spirit, soul, and body, for you. We ask that God would surround you with His peace, which surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7), and that He would strengthen you in your weakness. You are not alone in this battle, and we stand with you, believing that God’s grace is sufficient for you (2 Corinthians 12:9).

Now, we must gently address an area that requires discernment. While your love for your spouse is evident, we encourage you to ensure that your relationship is built on a foundation that honors God in every way. If there are any areas where your union does not align with biblical principles, such as sexual intimacy outside of marriage, or any other compromise, we urge you to repent and seek God’s will. Marriage is a covenant between one man and one woman, and it is meant to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). If you are not yet married, we encourage you to pursue purity and to enter into marriage with a clear conscience before God.

We also want to remind you that our access to God is only through the name of Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him, we invite you to do so today. Jesus died for your sins, rose again, and offers you eternal life and a personal relationship with God. Confess your sins, believe in Him, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9-10).

Let us now pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts full of faith and expectation. We lift up this marriage to You, Lord, and we ask that You would build it on the foundation of Your Word. Protect this union from the attacks of the enemy, and let Your grace abound in every area of their lives. We rebuke every spirit of division, strife, and financial lack in Jesus’ name, and we declare that this marriage is covered by the blood of Christ.

Father, we ask for Your provision over their finances. Open doors of opportunity, grant them wisdom in their decisions, and let Your abundance flow into their lives. Remove every burden of lack, and replace it with Your peace and prosperity.

Lord, we also pray for healing over the mental health struggles in this marriage. Touch every area of pain, anxiety, and exhaustion, and bring complete restoration. Let Your peace guard their hearts and minds, and let Your presence be their comfort and strength.

We ask that You would deepen their love for one another and for You. Help them to communicate with kindness, patience, and understanding. May their marriage be a testimony of Your faithfulness and a light to others.

Finally, Lord, we pray that they would surrender every area of their lives to You. If there are any areas of sin or compromise, reveal them, and lead them into repentance. Draw them closer to You, and let Your will be done in their lives.

We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Hold fast to your faith, dear one. God is working even when you cannot see it, and His promises are true. Keep seeking Him, keep praying, and keep trusting in His perfect timing. Your marriage is precious in His sight, and He will not fail you.

Thank you for trusting us with what’s on your heart, it’s clear how deeply you care about this marriage and about doing things in a way that honors God. We count it a privilege to stand with you in prayer.

We want to take a moment to simply say: the love you describe, and your desire for a relationship built on mutual understanding and God’s grace, is a beautiful thing. And we hear the weight of mental illness and financial strain on top of it all. That takes real courage to name.

Since you asked for prayer, we’ll pray, but we also want to gently mention something alongside it. The mental disorders you’re facing are a heavy burden, and while we absolutely pray for healing, God often works through the hands of trained people too. If you haven’t already, we’d encourage you to seek out a doctor or a Christian counselor who can help you walk through this with both skill and faith. There’s no shame in that, it can be a wise step, not a sign of weak faith. Someone who understands the spiritual battle as well as the emotional one can be a real gift.

Now please let us pray with you:

Father, thank you for the love this couple shares and for their desire for a marriage that rests in your hands. We ask you to shield their relationship from every scheme of the enemy, guard their conversations, their thoughts toward each other, and their home. Pour out your grace and patience so they truly understand one another and build a deep, lasting unity. We lift up their finances to you, you know the stress this causes. Please open doors, provide steady work, and give them wisdom with what you provide. And for our friend who struggles with mental illness, we ask for steady healing, clarity, and peace. Guide them to the right support and to people who can help. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The cry of your heart has ascended to the throne of grace, and it is not ignored. You desire a union held fast in the hands of Jesus from first to last; this is the very essence of a Christian marriage. Remember, the affinity of marriage is not one of birth, but of choice. Even so, the bond between Christ and His Church is by His sovereign, gracious choice. When two souls are drawn together by divine appointment, there is a mutual delight and complacency that becomes its crown. Pray then that your love may be rooted not in fleeting emotion, but in that higher choice which mirrors the Lord’s own.

As for the wiles of the evil one, he indeed seeks to sow discord and distress. But the Spirit of Christ teaches us not to return evil for evil, but to overcome evil with good. This is God-like. If the enemy whispers lies or stirs strife, answer with a blessing, and the curse cannot hurt you. The least leaf from the Tree of Life carries healing virtue, the least word of Christ, the smallest promise, has power to silence the foe. Keep your conversations seasoned with grace, and the presence of God will guard your union.

You speak of a sickness, both of body and of straitened circumstances. Know that the Great Physician is near. He healed all that had need of healing while He sojourned here, and the costly balm of His atonement has lost none of its power. The evil in our nature, the sorrows that break the heart, the financial anxieties, these are not beyond His reach. He binds up the broken in heart. Sometimes the deeper malady is spiritual, and the outward trouble is but a symptom. First forgiveness, then healing. The power of the Gospel is power to forgive sin, and from that cleansed state, peace flows like a river. You shall not be obliged to say, “I am sick,” because the Lord shall preserve you from the pestilence that walks in darkness. Lay hold of that marvelous promise.

Do not force the stream; trust the Lord to make all things beautiful in His time. The healing power was most present when Christ was teaching, so link your prayer with a hearing ear. Better to hear God’s Word from a poor preacher than to miss the voice of the Spirit. And as you feel your heart renewed, remember the woman with the fever: the moment He touched her hand and lifted her up, she arose and ministered to Him. So shall it be with you. Let the first fruit of healing be service, and the second, a deeper love. The Lord has not forgotten you. He who brought you together will perfect that which concerneth you. Only believe.

Marriage is honorable and the bed undefiled, but only when it is kept in holiness and honor. The devil despises nothing so much as a godly union, for he sees in it an image of Christ and the Church. Therefore he sends his snares: strife, want, and bodily affliction, seeking to split what God has joined. You pray that his attacks do not harm your marriage. This is godly, but know that no external assault can wound you unless you open the door by sin. Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord. Holiness in marriage is not mere abstinence from another’s bed, but a disciplined tongue, a meek spirit, and a heart crucified to lust and anger. When you rise from the undefiled bed, you dare not pray, Paul says, not because the act defiles, but because holy awe befits even lawful pleasures. How much less dare you pray if you have reviled your husband or harbored bitterness? The tongue, unbridled, becomes a mount for the devil. Watch it more than the pupil of your eye. Let no corrupting talk proceed from your mouth, but only what builds up, that the King may sit upon that royal steed and not the foul spirit.

You mention a financial burden. Poverty is not sin, but a furnace for the faithful. Job lost all, yet did not charge God foolishly. If your house lacks bread, let it not lack prayer. Use marriage with moderation, not as the world does, drowning care in luxury. The first are last, and the last first: many poor in wealth are rich toward God. Yet if God grants increase, receive it with thanksgiving, and let it minister to necessity, not to vanity. Do not make money a rival to your love; covetousness is idolatry, sharper than any sword to sever hearts.

You suffer in body, what that affliction is, God knows. If it is a thorn of the flesh, pray that it might depart, but hear also: “My grace is sufficient for you.” Physical healing is a good gift, but greater still is the healing of the soul from hidden sins. Search your conscience; confess to the Great Physician. And if the suffering remains, remember that the present light affliction works an eternal weight of glory.

Above all, let your union rest not on passionate feeling, which ebbs and flows, but on the rock of obedience to Christ. A woman who fears the Lord, who is sober, chaste, and given to good works, is a crown to her husband. Your desire that the relationship succeed is not amiss, but true success means that both of you, being made one flesh, press toward the heavenly city together. Do not force what must be born of grace; wait on the Lord in prayer and quiet labor. The power of prayer is not magic, but the lifting of a humble will into the will of God. Continue steadfastly in prayer, with thanksgiving, and God who opened a door for the gospel will open a door for your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
