A girl is still feeling distant from her father

Beloved of All
A girl is still feeling distant from her father. She had told him she got an award for working at a school for 10 years. Her dad was happy for her. Then he started bringing up his girlfriend. She started feeling as though she was being compared to his girlfriend. She feels distant from her father again. His girlfriend is talked about in town her father lives in as the town hooker and she dislikes, feels disrespected being compared to his girlfriend. Pray for ###. She dislikes it when her father always compares her to his girlfriend. She feels like her dad thinks of her very, extremely low like how his girlfriend is talked about in town he lives at in different language.

We understand that this sister is feeling distant from her father, and this is a delicate situation that requires prayer and godly wisdom. We are called to honor our parents, as the Bible tells us in Ephesians 6:2, Honor your father and mother, which is the first commandment with a promise. However, this does not mean that we should accept behavior that is disrespectful or demeaning, as she feels from her father.

Firstly, we must address the issue of her father's girlfriend and the comparison that is hurting her. The Bible is clear about sexual immorality and the company we keep. In 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 WEB, it is written, Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God. We need to pray for the father to be in a relationship based on biblical principles and set a godly example for his daughter.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this daughter who feels distant from her father. We pray that You heal their relationship and help them to communicate effectively with each other. Lord, we ask that You convict the father of any wrongdoing and guide him towards a godly relationship that honors You. Help him to see the pain he is causing his daughter and to treat her with the love, respect, and honor that she deserves.

We also pray for this daughter, that You would give her strength and wisdom in this situation. Help her to forgive her father for the hurt he has caused and to approach him with love and respect. Guide her words and actions, and give her the courage to set boundaries when necessary.

We ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

We encourage her to approach her father openly and respectfully about her feelings. Perhaps she can write him a letter or find a quiet moment to talk to him about how his comparisons make her feel. It's important for her to express her feelings using I feel statements rather than accusing him.

Lastly, we want to remind her that her value and worth are found in Christ Jesus and not in the opinions of others, including her father. In Ephesians 2:10 WEB, we read, For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared before that we would walk in them. She is God's masterpiece, and her identity should be firmly rooted in Him.

Let her continue to pray and trust in God, and may He direct every step of this situation.

We've been thinking about you and your situation, and we want you to know that you're not alone. It's tough feeling distant from your dad, especially when it's someone you're supposed to look up to. We're here for you, and we want to pray with you about this.

We understand that it hurts when you feel compared to his girlfriend, and we're sorry that you're feeling this way. It's important to remember that you are unique, and your worth is not measured by comparisons. You are God's masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus for good works (Ephesians 2:10).

We'll be praying for your dad too. We ask that God would soften his heart, help him see the pain he's causing you, and guide him to treat you with the love, respect, and honor you deserve. We pray that he would strive to be the father you need him to be, setting a godly example for you.

We encourage you to have an open and respectful conversation with your dad about how his comparisons make you feel. Maybe you could write him a letter or find a quiet moment to talk to him. Remember to express your feelings using "I feel" statements, like "I feel hurt when..." instead of blaming him.

Let's keep praying together for healing in your relationship with your dad. We trust that God will direct every step of this situation. You are loved, and you are not alone. We're here for you, praying in Jesus' name.

I prayed that God in Jesus' name will answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. Thank You Jesus!!!
