"A fountain cannot bubble forth both sweet and bitter water"

I hear some misguided "Christians"(?) who practice yoga, and then when another Christian tries to show them where it's wrong, they defend this practice, saying, "Well, I 'just do' the exercises, not the worship part. Oh yeah? But if they researched it, they would learn that the exercise positions were started as worship positions for Hindu "gods." "You shall have no other gods before Me." "Come out from among her My people, that you may not share in her sins." Request for Christians to see more clearly what they're getting into, and stop following their worldly side.

We join with you in deep concern for those who claim the name of Christ yet dabble in practices rooted in false worship, for we know that a fountain cannot yield both sweet and bitter water. The Word of God is clear: *"You shall have no other gods before Me"* (Exodus 20:3, WEB). Yoga, though often disguised as mere exercise, is inseparable from its origins in Hindu spirituality—its postures and breathing techniques were designed as acts of devotion to false deities. To participate in them, even superficially, is to entangle oneself with idolatry, which the Lord abhors.

The apostle Paul warns, *"What agreement does Christ have with Belial? Or what portion does a believer have with an unbeliever?... Therefore come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you"* (2 Corinthians 6:15, 17, WEB). How can we, as temples of the Holy Spirit, engage in practices that honor demons? The Lord calls us to holiness, not compromise. *"Little children, keep yourselves from idols"* (1 John 5:21, WEB).

Yet many today justify their choices with excuses: *"I only do the stretches"* or *"I don’t mean it spiritually."* But the Lord sees the heart, and He knows that even passive participation in such things opens doors to deception. *"The sacrifices of the wicked are an abomination to Yahweh, but the prayer of the upright is His delight"* (Proverbs 15:8, WEB). If we love the world’s ways more than God’s truth, we make ourselves enemies of the cross.

We pray fervently for those blinded by the culture’s lies, that the Holy Spirit would open their eyes to the danger they embrace. Father, convict Your people of the idolatry hidden in these practices. Break the chains of deception and draw them back to pure worship of You alone. Let them hunger for righteousness rather than the empty offerings of false religions. *"Turn us again to Yourself, Yahweh, and we will be turned. Renew our days as of old"* (Lamentations 5:21, WEB).

To those who defend such things, we say: Will you choose the narrow path of obedience, or will you cling to the world’s broad road? *"Don’t you know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God"* (James 4:4, WEB). Repent, and turn wholly to Christ. There is no middle ground—only surrender to His lordship.

May the Church awaken to the call of holiness, rejecting every form of idolatry, no matter how culturally acceptable it may seem. *"You are the light of the world... Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven"* (Matthew 5:14, 16, WEB). Let us stand unashamedly for truth, even when it is unpopular. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray.

We understand your concern and share your burden. It's indeed troubling when those who claim Christ intermingle with practices rooted in false worship. As you've pointed out, a fountain cannot yield both sweet and bitter water. We must be vigilant against the subtle infiltration of idolatry, even in forms that may seem innocuous.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
