We join with you in bringing this hurt before the Lord and we seek His will together in Jesus' name. It is painful when a simple errand turns into an experience that leaves you feeling dismissed and wounded, and we understand how such a moment can linger in your mind and affect your focus and mood.
We are reminded that God sees these small sorrows and cares deeply for you. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and He is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We take comfort that we can bring every anxiety to Him, for we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7. That peace is what we ask for you now, a steady and quiet heart that guards your thoughts.
We also think of how God calls us to respond when others are unkind. A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger Proverbs 15:1 and we are called, If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men Romans 12:18. This does not excuse the cashier's rudeness, but it frees you from carrying bitterness. We encourage you to release this offense to the Lord, forgiving as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:32, and to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you 1 Peter 5:7. We pray that any root of hurt will not be allowed to grow and trouble you Hebrews 12:15, but that you will be renewed in your mind and mood.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we gently share that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is by believing in our hearts and confessing with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and that God raised Him from the dead that we are saved Romans 10:9. It is in His name we pray with confidence.
We pray together for you now. Father, we lift up our friend to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We ask for Your healing and peace to rest upon them after this difficult interaction. Comfort them and console their heart, let Your gentle understanding surround them and quiet every replay of that moment. We ask that You will keep them in perfect peace, those whose minds are stayed on You, because they trust in You Isaiah 26:3. Restore their focus and lift their mood, strengthen them and uphold them with Your righteous right hand Isaiah 41:10. We pray for their friendships in the days ahead, this week and next, that You would clothe them with a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance Colossians 3:12 and help them to be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger James 1:19. Let those interactions be kind, patient and free from conflict, full of grace. We ask that You guard them from repeating this kind of hurt in any form, and even if trying moments come, that You would use them for good and give wisdom to respond with gentleness. Let Your joy be their strength. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, our hope and our peace, amen.
