A Cry for Judgment on Injustice

Dexter2020

Faithful Servant
O Lord, righteous Judge,
You see what the rulers of this land have done.
They give foreigners the high-paying jobs,
but for the locals — no jobs, or only low-paying work.
They have made Your people outsiders in their own home,
and they rejoice in oppressing those they were called to serve.

They mock the cries of the needy locals,
they despise the pleas of the poor locals.
They exalt greed, they embrace corruption,
and they laugh while the people suffer and oppress citizens with unsound laws.

But You, O Lord, are the God of justice.
Arise against their wickedness!
Let their unrepentant hearts be punished,
let their wicked plans perish like dust in the wind.
Let them be mocked and destroyed,
for they loved mocking and destroying.
As they trampled the locals, let them be trampled;
as they betrayed the poor, let them be betrayed.

Scatter their power, overturn their schemes,
break their pride, and silence their boasting.
Let their downfall be swift and their shame be great,
that all may know You are the Lord who reigns.

But show mercy to the humble who trust in You.
Lift up the poor who have been cast down,
restore dignity to the locals who have been neglected.
Raise up leaders who walk in righteousness,
who defend the people with truth and compassion.

For You, Lord Jesus, are the King of kings.
The earth is Yours, and all power belongs to You.
You bring low the proud and exalt the faithful.

We trust in Your judgment.
We wait for Your deliverance.

Amen.

We hear the anguish in your cry, and we join you in lifting this heavy burden before the Lord, for He alone is the righteous Judge who sees all injustice and will act in His perfect timing. Your heart aches for the oppression of your people—the locals who are marginalized, mocked, and denied fair opportunity while foreigners are favored. The corruption, greed, and pride of those in power are an abomination before the Lord, and He does not turn a blind eye to such wickedness. The Scriptures declare that the Lord is a refuge for the oppressed and a stronghold in times of trouble:

*"The Lord executes righteous acts, and justice for all who are oppressed."* (Psalm 103:6, WEB)
*"Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, and to the writers who write oppressive laws, to deprive the needy of justice, and to rob the poor among my people of their rights, that widows may be their plunder, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!"* (Isaiah 10:1-2, WEB)

You have rightly acknowledged that God is the One who brings justice, and we affirm that His judgment will come upon those who persist in their wickedness. The Lord warns through the prophet Obadiah: *"The pride of your heart has deceived you... Though you mount on high as the eagle, and though your nest is set among the stars, I will bring you down from there," says the Lord.* (Obadiah 1:3-4, WEB) Those who exalt themselves in corruption and cruelty will be brought low, for God resists the proud but gives grace to the humble (James 4:6).

Yet even as we cry out for justice, we must also remember that the Lord’s desire is for repentance. He takes no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they would turn from their ways and live (Ezekiel 18:23). So while we pray for the downfall of wicked schemes, we also ask the Lord to grant repentance to those who have been deceived by their own greed and power. May they encounter the convicting power of the Holy Spirit and turn to Christ in true remorse, for only in Him is there forgiveness and transformation.

We also lift up the humble, the poor, and the oppressed among your people. May the Lord be their defender and provider, lifting them from the dust of despair and restoring their dignity. *"He raises up the poor out of the dust. He lifts up the needy from the ash heap, to make them sit with princes, and inherit the throne of glory."* (1 Samuel 2:8, WEB) Let the Lord raise up godly leaders—men and women of integrity who fear Him and will govern with righteousness, compassion, and wisdom. May these leaders be like Joseph, who stored up grain not for personal gain but for the survival of the people, or like Nehemiah, who rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem with a heart for justice and the welfare of his countrymen.

We also encourage you to remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil that drive such injustice (Ephesians 6:12). While we pray for God’s intervention in the earthly realm, we must also stand firm in the spiritual, clad in the armor of God, wielding the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. Speak truth, expose darkness, and trust that the Lord will vindicate His people in His time.

Lastly, we rejoice that you have invoked the name of the Lord Jesus in your prayer, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. *"There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus"* (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB). He is the King of kings, and all authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Him (Matthew 28:18). Let us never forget that our hope is not in earthly rulers or systems, but in Christ alone, who will one day return to establish His kingdom of perfect justice and peace.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, crying out for justice in the face of such blatant oppression and corruption. You see the suffering of Your people—the locals who are denied fair work, mocked in their need, and trampled by those in power. Lord, You are not blind to their tears, nor deaf to their cries. You are the God of justice, and we ask You to arise and scatter the plans of the wicked. Frustrate their schemes, expose their corruption, and bring low their pride. Let those who have rejoiced in oppressing others be brought to account, that they may know You are the Lord who reigns over all.

Yet, Father, we also pray for their repentance. Soften their hearts of stone and grant them a spirit of conviction, that they may turn from their wickedness and seek Your forgiveness. May they encounter the truth of Your Word and the power of Your Spirit, leading them to true transformation in Christ.

Lord, we lift up the oppressed and the poor among the locals. Comfort them in their distress, provide for their needs, and restore their dignity. Raise up godly leaders who will govern with righteousness, who will defend the weak and uphold justice. Give Your people wisdom to navigate these trials, and fill them with hope that does not disappoint.

We trust in Your promises, Lord, knowing that You will bring justice in Your perfect time. Strengthen our faith as we wait, and let us never lose sight of the fact that our ultimate citizenship is in Your kingdom. May we live as ambassadors of Christ, shining His light in the darkness and proclaiming His truth with boldness.

We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone has the power to save, deliver, and bring justice. Amen.

We stand with you, dear friend, in crying out for justice. We've seen the plight of our people, the locals, who are marginalized and oppressed. Our hearts ache for them, just as yours does. We join you in praying:

"Lord Jesus, have mercy on Your people. See their suffering, hear their cries. You are the Judge of all, and we trust in Your righteous judgment. Bring down the proud who rejoice in oppression, and lift up the humble who trust in You. Scatter their plans, expose their corruption, and silence their boasting. But, Lord, have mercy on their souls. Grant them repentance, that they may turn from their wicked ways and find forgiveness in You.

Lift up the poor and the needy, Lord. Restore their dignity, provide for their needs, and give them hope. Raise up leaders who will defend the people with truth and compassion. Give us wisdom to navigate these trials, and fill us with Your Holy Spirit, that we may stand against injustice and proclaim Your truth.

We trust in Your promises, Lord Jesus. We wait for Your deliverance, knowing that our ultimate hope is in Your kingdom. Help us to live as Your ambassadors, shining Your light in the darkness and proclaiming Your truth with boldness.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
