Prayer Warrior
Dear Lord Jesus and Father God. I don't get many breaks in poverty, I'd love a sea or a mountain walk or something nice. I live hand to mouth and it's a grey existence but I have faith it'll get better. I'd like a day out, but there's less than ### for a week now. Brothers and sisters please keep me in your prayers. Amen

We have heard your heart and we join with you in bringing this need before our Father through our Lord Jesus Christ, for you did well to come to Him directly.

We understand the weariness of living hand to mouth and how grey and heavy each day can feel when there is so little provision and no break in sight. The Lord sees your faithfulness in poverty and your hope that things will get better, and He is not distant from you in this. He is close to the humble and He knows what you need.

The Scripture reminds us that our Father knows we have need of daily provision and He calls us to seek Him first, Matthew 6:31-33, and that He will supply every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19. Even when we have little, we can trust that those who seek Yahweh shall not lack any good thing, Psalm 34:10. And Jesus Himself invites the weary to find rest in Him when He says Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest, Matthew 11:28. We know that rest and beauty in creation are gifts from God, for He makes us to lie down in green pastures and leads us beside still waters and restores our soul, Psalm 23:2-3.

We pray together for you now.

Father God, in the name of Jesus we lift up our dear brother or sister to You. You know the poverty and the strain of having so little for this week, and the longing for just one day out, for a walk by the sea or in the mountains, for a breath of fresh air and beauty. Lord, we ask You to provide for every daily need, to open doors for provision and work and help, and to show Yourself as Jehovah Jireh who provides. Give rest to this weary heart, lift the greyness, and restore joy. If it is Your will, make a way for a simple, low cost day out in Your creation where Your peace can be felt, and remind our sibling that You have not forgotten them. Help us to wait upon You and renew strength, for those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength, they will mount up with wings like eagles, Isaiah 40:31. Keep our sibling from discouragement and let faith grow stronger through this trial, knowing You will never leave nor forsake us, Deuteronomy 31:6. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen.

We encourage you to keep trusting Him day by day and to let your church family or local believers know of your need if you have not already, for God often provides through His people. Even a walk in a nearby park or hillside can be a gift of rest when a farther trip is not possible, and we pray God will make even a small outing feel like that sea or mountain walk you long for. He sees your faith and He honors it. We will continue to keep you in our prayers that God will bring provision, rest, and brighter days.

We hear how heavy this grey, hand to mouth season has felt, and how much a simple day by the sea or in the hills would mean right now. Thank you for sharing that honest longing with us, and for holding onto faith that things can get better even while money is so tight.

Wanting a break when you have so little margin is not ungrateful, it is human. Rest matters, and God sees both the need and the faith you are carrying.

When funds are this low a day out can feel out of reach, but sometimes a change of scene close to home can still lift the spirit a little. If it helps, you might look at what is free nearby this week, a local park, a coastal bus route you could walk part of, a church walk or community picnic you could join. Even asking someone at church if they are heading out and would welcome company can open a door without cost. We know that may not be possible every week, but we mention it gently in case something small is available.

We are keeping you in prayer for rest and encouragement right now.

Father, we lift our brother to You. You see his need and his trust in You. Provide for his daily needs, give him moments of beauty and rest close to home, and keep his heart hopeful as he waits on You. Show him Your nearness and kindness in the days ahead. In Jesus name, Amen.

Your prayer has been heard and we have brought it before the Lord with you in our own prayers. To live hand to mouth and to feel life grey and weary is a heavy burden, and the longing for a little breathing space, for a walk by the sea or among the hills, is natural to the soul that labours under such a weight.

Hear the word of the Lord Jesus, who says, Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. This is a present rest, rest now, not only rest after death, and it is a perfect rest for the soul that comes to Him. There is also a further rest which is found as we learn of Him and take His yoke upon us, the rest of a learner who walks day by day with Christ.

It is a vain idea to suppose that if our circumstances were only altered we should be more at rest. If you cannot rest in poverty, neither would you in riches, and if you cannot rest in obscurity, neither would you in honour. The rest which Christ gives is not dependent upon a full purse or a fair landscape, though we may thank Him for those mercies when He grants them. You are very poor, as you say, but if you set small store by riches, poverty will not distress you as it does the world, for faith teaches contentment and perfect satisfaction with our earthly lot as from the hand of our Father.

This does not make your need less real, and we do not lightly pass over it. The Lord knows that you have less than a little to live upon this week, and He who feeds the sparrows and clothes the lilies knows your frame and your need. We have prayed that He would deal bountifully with you, that He would give you in His providence some refreshing of body and mind, whether it be a quiet day out or some other token of His care, as seems good to Him, and above all that He would give you rest of mind, fixedness of belief, and peace in every part of your nature, that deep and true rest which the world cannot give and cannot take away.

There remaineth also a rest to the people of God which is yet to come, a perfect rest where there are no more grey days and no more anxious toil, where the soul is wholly at rest in its home. That hope is sure for all who trust in Jesus Christ alone for salvation, for we who have believed do enter into rest. Trust and you shall rest, and though you have had many defeats and weary miles, victory is secured in Christ.

May the Lord turn your present hope into a settled confidence through believing in Jesus, and may He enable you to say with the Psalmist, Return unto thy rest, O my soul, for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee. We will continue to keep you in prayer, asking the Lord to supply your daily bread, to lift the greyness with the light of His countenance, and to keep your faith looking to Him till the better day He has promised shall dawn.
