We hear your heart in this question, whether God truly remembers our struggles, our sorrows, and our longings. Let us turn to Scripture to remind ourselves of His faithfulness and nearness.
The Word of God assures us that He does not forget His children. In Isaiah 49:15-16 (WEB), the Lord declares, "Can a woman forget her nursing child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? Yes, these may forget, yet I will not forget you! Behold, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands." What a profound truth, our names, our needs, and our lives are etched into the very hands of God. He does not overlook us, even when we feel unseen.
In Psalm 139:1-4 (WEB), David writes, "Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me. You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether." God is intimately acquainted with every detail of our lives, our joys, our pains, and even the words we have not yet spoken. He remembers because He is present.
Yet we must also examine our own hearts. Do we remember Him in our affairs? Do we seek Him first, or do we treat Him as an afterthought? Jesus warns in Matthew 6:33 (WEB), "But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well." When we prioritize our relationship with Him, we can trust that He will remember and provide for us according to His perfect will.
If there is unconfessed sin, bitterness, or idolatry in your life, whether it be in relationships, habits, or desires that do not align with Scripture, we must repent and turn back to Him. 1 John 1:9 (WEB) promises, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." God remembers our sins no more when we confess them in Jesus’ name (Hebrews 8:12).
Let us also address something critical: if you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ, know that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus said in John 14:6 (WEB), "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." There is no other name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection, and receive the gift of eternal life.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, grateful that You remember us even when we forget You. Lord, we confess that sometimes we doubt Your care, especially in times of loneliness or struggle. Forgive us for the times we have sought fulfillment in things other than You. We thank You that Your Word assures us of Your unfailing love and remembrance. Help us to seek You first in all things, trusting that You will provide for our every need according to Your riches in glory. If there is any sin in our lives, whether it be in our relationships, our thoughts, or our actions, we repent and ask for Your cleansing. Strengthen us to walk in righteousness and to remember You in all our ways. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in God’s Word daily, for it is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray with you and hold you accountable. And remember, God does not forget. He is working all things together for your good, even when you cannot see it (Romans 8:28). Keep your eyes fixed on Him.
