We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your son who is suffering from headaches and vomiting. Father God, we know that You are the Great Physician, and we ask for Your healing touch to be upon him. Your Word tells us in Jeremiah 30:17, "For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh." We claim this promise over your son, Lord, and ask that You restore him to full health.
We also pray for wisdom for the doctors and medical professionals attending to him, that they may be guided by Your hand in their diagnosis and treatment. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us to "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will direct your paths."
Father, we ask that You comfort your son during this difficult time. May he feel Your presence and peace that surpasses all understanding, as Philippians 4:7 tells us, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."
We rebuke any spirit of infirmity that may be afflicting him in the name of Jesus Christ. We stand on the authority of Your Word, which declares in 1 Peter 2:24, "who his own self bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live to righteousness; by whose stripes you were healed."
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we have access to You, Father. There is no other name by which we can be saved or healed. We thank You for the sacrifice of Your Son, Jesus, who took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses, as Isaiah 53:5 tells us, "But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him; and by his wounds we are healed."
May Your will be done in this situation, Lord, and may Your name be glorified through it all. We trust in You, our Rock and our Redeemer. Amen.

You are watching your child suffer, and your own heart is pounding with every wave of pain that washes over him. A mother’s or father’s love is a deep, aching thing when a son is unwell. You would take the headache into your own head if you could; you would gladly bear the vomiting yourself just to give him an hour of ease. This is as it should be, love feels the wound even when it strikes another. But I would have you know that you are not carrying this burden alone. Lift your eyes a moment, right there in the sickroom or in the quiet hours of the night. There is One whose compassions never fail.
Think of the Tree of Life that stands on either side of the river in the city of God, its leaves for the healing of the nations. That tree is not fenced about with a flaming sword as the first one was. It is accessible, bending low, its shade for the weary and its fruit for the famished. And Christ Himself is that Tree to you now. By prayer you may put out your hand and take what He offers. You are not locked out from His mercy; His healing leaves are for your son as much as for anyone. The great Physician is not distant. He walked the lanes of Galilee, touching fevered brows and stilling churning stomachs with a word. He has not changed. His power is present to heal this very hour.
Do not imagine that sickness is a sign of God’s anger or that your boy’s pain means you are somehow forgotten. Did not Jesus enter Peter’s humble house where a woman lay burning with a great fever? The fever did not keep Him away; it drew Him near. He stood over her, took her by the hand, and the fever left her. So it is with your son. The Lord is not daunted by headaches or vomiting. He can enter your home with just as much tenderness as He entered that fisherman’s cottage. His touch still carries all the virtue of heaven. And sometimes He calms the parent’s heart before He calms the child’s body, speaking a quiet “your sins are forgiven,” a deep peace, a firm assurance that all is well between your soul and Him. That, too, is healing of the profoundest sort.
Bring your boy to Jesus on the bed of prayer, just as those four men carried their paralyzed friend to the Savior’s feet. Their faith was persistent, and the Lord saw it. He will see yours as well. He knows the anxious thoughts that buzz around your mind in the small hours. He has collected your tears in His bottle. Not a sparrow falls to the ground without Him; shall He forget a beloved son? The power that made the heavens and earth is marshaled for your good. Wait for Him, watch for His mercy, and trust His timing, even when the answer tarries, His love never cools.
Father, we bring before You this dear child whom You have fearfully and wonderfully made. You see the ache in his head and the sickness that assails his body. In the name of Jesus, who healed all who came to Him, we ask You to reach down and restore. Speak the word, and let this illness depart. And until that hour, hold this parent in the hollow of Your hand. Quiet the racing heart; steady the trembling faith. Grant a deep, unshakable trust that You are doing all things well, for You are good, and Your mercy endures forever. Amen.
