We come before the Lord with a heart of discernment and a deep desire to align this prayer with His holy Word. First, we acknowledge that you have called upon the name of Jesus, which is the only name by which we have access to the Father (Acts 4:12, John 14:6). We are grateful for your faith in Christ and your reliance on the Holy Spirit to guide you. However, we must address several concerns in this prayer with love, truth, and biblical clarity.
Your prayer speaks of a "deep connection between [your] soul and the soul of another," seeking a spiritual communion that includes telepathy, lucid dreaming, and a manifestation in the "waking world." While the desire for connection, healing, and restoration is understandable, we must examine whether these pursuits align with Scripture. The Bible does not endorse or provide instruction for telepathic communication, lucid dreaming as a spiritual practice, or the pursuit of soul ties outside of God’s ordained boundaries. In fact, Scripture warns us about the dangers of seeking spiritual experiences outside of God’s revealed will. Deuteronomy 18:10-12 explicitly condemns practices such as divination, sorcery, and any form of communication with spirits or forces outside of God’s authority. Even if your intentions are pure, we must guard our hearts against any practice that could open doors to deception or spiritual confusion.
We also notice the language of "declaring" and "decreeing" realities into existence. While we are called to pray with faith and confidence in God’s power, we must remember that our words do not hold inherent power—only God does. Jesus taught us to pray, "Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven" (Matthew 6:10). Our prayers should always submit to God’s will, not attempt to manipulate or control outcomes according to our own desires. The idea of "manifesting" a reality through spiritual practices is not biblical; rather, we are called to trust in God’s sovereignty and timing.
Regarding the relationship you are praying about, we must address the nature of your connection with this young lady. The Bible is clear that relationships between believers should be pursued with the goal of marriage, and all interactions should honor God’s design for purity and holiness. If this connection is not within the bounds of a godly courtship or marriage, we must rebuke any emotional or spiritual entanglement that could lead to sin or distraction from God’s purposes. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 warns us to flee from sexual immorality and to honor God with our bodies, which includes our thoughts and emotions. We must ensure that our desires, even if they feel spiritual, are not leading us into emotional or spiritual compromise.
We also want to gently challenge the idea of this young lady being a "spiritual hero." While it is wonderful to admire and encourage fellow believers, we must be cautious not to elevate any person to a place that belongs only to Christ. Jesus is our ultimate Hero, the Author and Perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2). He alone is our Savior, Redeemer, and the One who defeats all darkness. Placing such high spiritual expectations on another person can lead to disappointment, idolatry, or even spiritual deception. We are called to look to Jesus as our source of hope, peace, and victory.
Furthermore, the focus on dreams and spiritual experiences as a means of connection raises concerns. While God can speak through dreams (as He did in the Bible), we must test every spirit and every experience against Scripture (1 John 4:1). Dreams and spiritual impressions should never take precedence over God’s written Word or the counsel of wise, godly believers. We must be cautious not to seek spiritual experiences for their own sake, as this can lead us away from the simplicity of devotion to Christ (2 Corinthians 11:3).
Let us now come before the Lord in prayer, seeking His will and His wisdom for this situation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You for the faith of this brother in Christ and for his desire to see healing and restoration. Lord, we ask that You would give him clarity and discernment in this situation. Help him to see Your will clearly and to surrender his desires to You. Father, we pray that You would guard his heart and mind from any deception or spiritual confusion. Protect him from any practices or pursuits that do not align with Your Word.
Lord, we ask that You would reveal to him the true nature of his connection with this young lady. If this relationship is not within Your will, we pray that You would break any unhealthy emotional or spiritual ties and redirect his heart toward Your purposes. If this relationship is meant to be, we pray that You would guide it according to Your design—pure, holy, and with the goal of marriage in mind. Help him to seek You above all else and to find his hope, peace, and identity in Christ alone.
Father, we rebuke any spirit of deception or confusion that may be at work in this situation. We declare that Jesus Christ is Lord over every area of our lives, and we submit this prayer to His authority. We ask that You would fill this brother with Your Holy Spirit, giving him wisdom, peace, and a deep trust in Your sovereignty. Help him to rest in Your timing and to walk in obedience to Your Word.
Lord, we pray for this young lady as well. If she is a sister in Christ, we ask that You would draw her closer to You and fill her with Your peace and healing. Protect her from any spiritual confusion or fear, and let her find her hope and joy in You alone. If she does not know You, we pray that she would come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and experience the fullness of life that only He can give.
Father, we thank You for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Christ. We declare that no weapon formed against us shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). We trust in You, Lord, and we surrender this situation into Your hands. May Your will be done, and may Your name be glorified in all things. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to seek godly counsel from mature believers in your local church. Share your heart with them and allow them to speak into this situation with wisdom and accountability. Remember that God’s Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path (Psalm 119:105). Let it guide you in every area of your life, including your relationships and spiritual pursuits. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). He is faithful, and He will direct your paths.
