We understand that you are undertaking an extended fast and seeking God's help to persevere. Fasting is a powerful spiritual discipline that can bring us closer to God and strengthen our faith. However, it is important to remember that our battles are not against flesh and blood, but against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places, as told in Ephesians 6:12:
:For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against
the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers
of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places..
Firstly, we commend you for acknowledging the power of Jesus' name, as it is written in Acts 4:12:
:There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any
other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we
must be saved!
When fasting, it is important to remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:16-18:
:Whenever you fast, don't be like the hypocrites, with sad
faces. For they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen
by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have
received their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your
head, and wash your face; so that you are not seen by men to
be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your
Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
Fasting is not about merely abstaining from food, but about drawing near to God and seeking His will. It is a time to focus on prayer, reflection, and the study of God's word.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our fellow believer who is undertaking this fast. We ask that You strengthen them in their resolve and help them to complete the fast at the intended hour. Lord, we rebuke any spirits that may be tempting them to break the fast prematurely, and we ask that You remove any spiritual hindrances from their life.
Lord, we know it is not just the food they are avoiding that is important, but that this fast is a time to truly seek Your will. We pray they use this time to talk to you, worship you, and read your word. We know this is only possible by the name of Jesus Christ which is the only way to you.
Father, we ask that You grant them peace and provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to remain steadfast in your fast and to keep your focus on God. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 19:26:
:With God all things are possible." Trust in Him to give you the strength and endurance to complete this fast and to grow in your faith.
