2 Strangers texted me on my phone yesterday

I don't know who the 2 people are texting me, so I ain't going to text them back. I don't know who the 2 people are. I don't know how they got my phone numbers or where they came from. God knows I don't play with my own phone. I do not talk to strangers that I don't know whose people they are.

We hear your concern and we stand with you in this, and we affirm the wisdom you have shown in not responding to strangers who text you. It is prudent and right to guard yourself and not to engage with those you do not know, especially when you do not know how they obtained your number.

We are reminded of what scripture says in Proverbs 27:12, A prudent man sees danger and hides himself; but the simple pass on, and suffer for it. You have acted prudently, and we encourage you to continue to protect your peace and your privacy. Do not feel pressured to answer, click any links, or share any information. It is wise to block those numbers and to remain cautious, trusting God to keep you safe from any harm or deception.

We want to lift you up in prayer and also remind you that our peace and protection come through Jesus Christ alone. We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently share that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and can come boldly before His throne. As Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 we read, There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is by placing our faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we are saved and that our prayers are heard. We pray you know the comfort of that relationship with Him.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear one to You. You see and know all things, even the strangers who have sent these messages and how this number was obtained. We ask for Your divine protection over them, over their phone and their personal information, and over their peace of mind. We pray in Philippians 4:6-7 that in nothing they would be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let their requests be made known to You, and that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their heart and thoughts in Christ Jesus. Lord, we claim Your promise in 2 Thessalonians 3:3 that You are faithful, who will establish us and guard us from the evil one, and in Psalm 121:7-8 that Yahweh will keep them from all evil and will keep their going out and their coming in, from this time forward, and forever more. Give them discernment and calm, remove any fear or annoyance, and let no harm or harassment come near them. We ask that You would stop any further unwanted contact and keep them in perfect safety. We trust You to watch over what we cannot see and to be their refuge. In the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to rest in the Lord's care and not to be troubled. Keep those boundaries firm, and continue to bring every concern to God in prayer through Jesus, for He cares for you and He is your keeper.

We noticed how careful you are with your phone and we think that instinct to not answer strangers is a good and healthy one. It makes sense you would feel bothered when two unknown numbers reached out and you have no idea how they found you.

We see wisdom in what you already did by choosing not to text back. A boundary is simply like a property line that shows what is yours to protect, including your time, your peace and who you allow into your private space. Being free to say no without guilt is part of staying connected to others in a healthy way, and you exercised that well.

A couple of simple steps may help you keep that peace going forward. You can block those numbers so they cannot reach you again and delete the messages without opening any links. If more come, most phones let you report them as spam, and your carrier can help filter them if needed. There is no need to explain or respond to people you do not know.

Father, thank You for seeing this situation even when the details are unknown to us. We ask You to give our friend quietness of mind, a sense of safety and clear wisdom about their phone and boundaries. Keep them protected from hassle and worry, and remind them they are not alone. You have acted with prudence in not answering those who are unknown to you, and there is wisdom in such quiet guardedness. To leave unanswered that which you do not know is not unkindness, but discretion, and the Lord who sees all that concerns you will honor a careful walk.

It is natural that such an unlooked for intrusion should stir a little uneasiness in the mind, yet let not your heart be troubled overmuch. The mind is the main thing, for it will bring you daylight or midnight, peace or war, as it is stayed upon God or left to wander among anxieties. The prophet gives us a sure word, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. That perfect peace is not the absence of strange voices or pressing duties, but the presence of Christ within, and the blood of Jesus whispers peace within even when sorrows surge around.

You say you do not know these senders, nor how they obtained your number, and that you do not play with your phone. God knows this fully. He knows your ways and your dwelling, and He keeps both you and yours. Though we are strangers and sojourners in this world, we are not strangers to God, for we walk with Him in hallowed communion, and our help comes from the Lord who made heaven and earth. If all the forces on earth are not sufficient to preserve His own, He will send sufficient help from heaven to keep them.

Therefore, fear not, for the Lord Himself says, Fear not, I am with you. Fear is weakening and it dishonors God, as though His arm which piled the heavens could be palsied. Labor to get rid of fear by trusting the promise, I will help you, says the Lord. The very anxiety which arises from a difficulty unfits you to meet it, but to do the will of Jesus, to commit the matter to Him in prayer and then to rest, this is rest.

Be at peace then, and continue in the course you have taken. Do not answer the unknown voice, and if the messages continue, let a trusted friend or family member know, and make use of the lawful means to block what is unwelcome. Above all, carry the matter to the Lord in prayer. Tell Him that you desire to walk quietly and blamelessly, and ask Him to keep your mind stayed upon Himself, to guard your home and your peace, and to let no harm come near you.

May the Lord bless His people with peace, that peace which comes only from Himself through the blood which has made full atonement, and may you prove it to be a present possession in the ordinary circumstances of life, until you come nearer to your Home above with every passing moment.
