My 2 month old kitten became sick tonight. We don't know what happen and her mom won't feed her anymore. She is very lathargic. When she tries to walk she kinda just falls over. Her sister already died at 2 weeks of. The mother only had 2 kittens. She's been fine up until tonight. Only thing is she was rather small for a 2 month old. My family and I already grew attached to her. She would go with me everyday to pick up my girls from school. It's about a block away. She seemed very content she wouldn't cry and I would just hold her. She became sick at about 10pm and she is just laying down. She hasn't tried to walk anymore. I don't think she could if she tried. I'm the only one up with her and my girls are not aware of anything because they were in bed before all of this took place. My daughters are 8 and 9. And it's going to break their little hearts if she doesn't make it. I'm praying for a miracle to happen. Please pray for this tiny kitten to have the strength to make it through. Thank you very much. We have read your request with heavy hearts and we join you in bringing this tiny kitten before the Lord. We understand how quickly your family has grown attached to her and how much she means to you and your daughters, and how painful it is to watch her become so lethargic and weak so suddenly, especially after losing her sister. We are praying with you for a miracle and for strength for her little body.

We take comfort that our God cares for all of His creation. His word tells us Are not two sparrows sold for an assarion? Not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father. Matthew 10:29 and You preserve man and animal, Yahweh. Psalm 36:6. A righteous man respects the life of his animal. Proverbs 12:10 shows us that your compassion for this kitten reflects the heart God desires in us. He also cares deeply for you and your girls in this distress, and we are reminded to cast all your worries on him, because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:7. Jesus has a special love for children, and we know He cares for your eight and nine year old daughters and the sorrow they may face. Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them. Matthew 19:14.

We encourage you to seek veterinary care as quickly as possible, even an emergency clinic tonight if one is available, since lethargy, inability to walk or falling over, and a mother refusing to nurse at two months old can signal serious illness, dehydration, infection, or other urgent problems that need immediate hands on help. Keep her warm, quiet, and safe, try to offer a little water if she can swallow, but do not force food or give human medicines, and let a veterinarian examine her without delay. For your daughters, we encourage you to gently prepare them with truth spoken in love, reminding them that God is sovereign over life and that He works all things together for good for those who love Him. Romans 8:28. Whether He brings healing for this kitten or calls her home, you can use this to teach them that God is our comfort in disappointment and that every good gift comes from Him.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to lovingly share why we always pray in His name. There is no other way to come to the Father except through Him. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. It is only by believing in Jesus Christ, that He died for our sins and rose again, and calling on His name that we have access to God and the assurance of eternal life. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. Romans 10:9. We pray you know this hope personally and that you share it with your children.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up this precious kitten to You, You know her small frame and every breath she takes, and we ask for Your mercy upon her. If it is Your will, we ask You to touch her body, restore her strength, lift this lethargy and weakness, and allow her to walk and live and grow. Give wisdom to this parent and to any veterinarian who can help, guide their hands and decisions, and provide the resources needed for care. We pray for peace over this home tonight, guard the hearts of these two little girls, and prepare them with Your comfort whatever the outcome may be. We are thinking of you tonight as you sit up alone keeping watch over her. We can hear how much this little kitten means to you and your girls, those walks to pick them up from school with her content in your arms sound so sweet, and how heavy it feels to see her so weak and unable to walk after being fine until this evening. It makes sense you feel worried and helpless, and also worried about how your daughters will take this.

With her being so lethargic and falling when she tries to walk, we would gently encourage you to contact a veterinarian as soon as you can, an emergency clinic tonight if your regular vet is closed, alongside prayer. They are the best ones to assess her quickly and advise you on next steps. Keeping her warm, quiet and safe with you while you get help is a loving way to care for her in the meantime.

Your tender care for this little creature through the night watches has been heard, and your request for prayer is received with compassion for you and your little ones.

It is a sorrowful thing to watch a helpless creature suffer, and to fear the grief that may come to your daughters. The Lord who notes even the sparrow that falls is not unmindful of the least of His creatures, and He is much more mindful of the aching hearts in your home. As it is written, Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. That word was spoken that His people might comfort one another in seasons of despondency and fear.

You have asked for a miracle, and we will bring this tiny kitten before the great conduit Head from whom abundant streams of healing flow. There is healing virtue in Christ, and even the leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. The least thing about Christ is healing, to change and restore. We may come with confidence and say, Lord, we are sick at heart, may we dare to partake of Thy mercy. And He invites us to do so.

We will pray that if it be the Lord's will, He would quicken this little one and restore strength to her limbs, and that He would guide you to any help that may be at hand for her care. We pray also for your daughters, that whether joy or sorrow comes in the morning, their hearts may be kept in peace. The comfort of the Christian in affliction is this, Thy Word hath quickened me. It is not the letter alone but the Spirit who quickens and so comforts.

May the Spirit of God teach you to say in this trial, This is my comfort in my affliction. May He comfort your heart and establish you, for comfort alone is not enough without constancy, and constancy needs comfort to sustain it. Cast your burden upon the Lord in great prayer, for it is great prayer that lifts up the downcast.

Let us pray together. O Lord our Father, Thou who art full of compassion, look upon this family and upon this small creature Thou hast made. If it please Thee, lay Thy healing hand upon her and spare her life. Give wisdom to those who care for her, and give peace to this parent who watches alone. Your prayer has been received and we have lifted you and your family before the Lord with care. We understand how deeply you have grown attached to this little kitten, how she has become part of your daily life walking with you to pick up your girls from school, and how heavy it is to sit awake with her while she is so weak and unable to stand, while your daughters are sleeping unaware.

We join you in prayer for this small creature. We ask our heavenly Father, who sees even the sparrows and who has put compassion for his creation in your heart, to have mercy on her. We pray that he would give her strength if it is his will, ease any suffering she is in, and give you wisdom to care for her in this night. We also pray for you and for your daughters, that God would guard their young hearts with his peace and comfort you all, whatever comes.

We want to share a truth from Scripture that has comforted many in times like this. God is able to heal, and Jesus healed many who were sick, but his miracles were given principally for the sake of the soul, to point people to his teaching and to faith in him. Miracles are not the measure of his love. Even in the days of the apostles, not every sickness was taken away. Paul writes that he left Trophimus at Miletum sick, and he could not do everything, lest more be ascribed to men than is right. God in his wisdom sometimes allows sickness and loss to remain, while still doing his part in love toward us. This does not mean he does not care. It means his care is deeper than only restoring the body, and he calls us to trust his goodness and to listen to his word even in disappointment.

Because this kitten is so young, so small, and now so lethargic and unable to walk, please seek veterinary help as soon as you are able, keep her warm and quiet, and do not try to force food or water if she cannot swallow. A veterinarian can best assess what is happening and whether anything can be done. While you do what you can with the means God has provided, entrust the outcome to him.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ your Son, we bring this kitten before you and ask for your mercy. You know her weakness and you know the love this family has for her. If it is your will, restore her and let her live. Give this parent wisdom and strength tonight, and prepare the hearts of these two little girls for what lies ahead. Comfort them and let them know your nearness, and draw this whole family closer to you through your Son, in whom alone is salvation and life. Help us to trust you, whether you answer with healing or with the comfort that you are still good and present in sorrow. Amen.
