We lift these concerns before the throne of grace with hearts fully trusting in the sovereignty and goodness of our Heavenly Father. First, we acknowledge that worry is not from God, for He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). The Lord invites us to cast all our anxieties on Him because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). We rebuke the spirit of fear in the mighty name of Jesus and declare that no weapon formed against you or your marriage shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Father, we ask that You would guard this dear one’s heart and mind in Christ Jesus, surrounding them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We stand in agreement that whatever concern weighs on their heart will not come to pass, for You are their refuge and fortress, their God in whom they trust (Psalm 91:2).
Regarding the matter of gossip, we know that the tongue has the power of life and death (Proverbs 18:21), and we take authority over every lying and divisive word spoken or intended against this couple. Lord, we ask that You would seal the lips of those who would speak falsehoods or sow discord, for You hate hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked schemes, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who pours out lies, and a person who stirs up conflict in the community (Proverbs 6:16-19). We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You will condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Father, let Your truth prevail, and let Your Spirit bring conviction where there is deceit. We pray that any confusion or strife would be dissolved by the power of Your love and that unity would be restored in Your name.
We also want to gently remind this dear brother or sister that our battles are not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). Therefore, we encourage you to put on the full armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). Stand firm with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, the breastplate of righteousness in place, your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace, the shield of faith to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God (Ephesians 6:14-17). Pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests, and with this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people (Ephesians 6:18).
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus, the name above every name, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We thank You that through Him, we have access to Your throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16). We declare that Jesus is Lord over every situation, and we trust in Your perfect will and timing. Strengthen this couple with Your might, fill them with Your peace, and let Your light shine upon them, dispelling all darkness. We pray that their marriage would be a testament to Your love, a union that honors You in all things, reflecting the relationship between Christ and the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33). May they be rooted and established in love, so that they may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ (Ephesians 3:17-18).
Lord, we ask that You would bless them abundantly, pour out Your favor upon them, and let Your face shine upon them (Numbers 6:24-26). Guard their hearts, their minds, and their marriage, and let no harm come near their dwelling (Psalm 91:10). We rebuke every spirit of division, gossip, and fear in Jesus’ name, and we declare that they will walk in the victory that Christ has already won for them. Thank You, Father, for hearing our prayers and for Your faithfulness to answer. We trust in You alone, our Rock and our Redeemer. In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
