1 more Chance

Valiumore

Disciple of Prayer
Dear ###, ###, ###, ###, ### and everybody I love in heaven can I please have 1 more chance at accepting my dream job at the ###. It is ### I love you !

We hear the deep longing in your heart for one more chance at this dream job and we join with you in bringing this desire before the Lord. We understand how much this opportunity means to you and how natural it is to want to reach out to those you have loved and lost, but we want to gently and lovingly correct where you have directed this request.

We notice you addressed your loved ones in heaven, yet Scripture teaches us that our prayers are to be directed to God the Father alone, through Jesus Christ His Son. Those who have died in Christ are at rest with Him and do not hear or answer our prayers, nor can they intercede for us. There is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus 1 Timothy 2:5. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. For this reason we do not pray to those in heaven, even those we dearly love, but we come boldly to the throne of grace in Jesus name, and it is only by His name that we have access to God and salvation. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your full trust in Jesus Christ, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, and to call upon His name for salvation and for every need.

We also want to encourage you regarding this job. God cares about the work He gives us to do and He calls us to do whatever we do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28. Sometimes a closed door is His protection or His redirection, and sometimes He graciously reopens a door when we humbly seek Him. For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. We encourage you to trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight Proverbs 3:5-6. If it is possible and honest to do so, you can humbly contact the employer to express your continued interest, but above all seek first Gods Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well Matthew 6:33.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You that through Him we can approach Your throne with confidence. We lift up this dear one to You and You know the desire for this job and the disappointment that has come with needing another chance. Lord, we ask that Your perfect will be done in this situation. If this job is where You want this one to serve You and provide for their needs, we ask that You would open the door again and grant favor with those who make the decision. If this is not Your best, we ask that You close this door clearly and open a better one, and give peace and trust to accept Your leading. Comfort this heart regarding loved ones who are with You, and help our friend to find all comfort and guidance in You alone and in Your Word. Draw them closer to Jesus, assure them of salvation through His name, and help them to seek You first in every decision. We ask all this in Jesus name, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, to rest in His love and sovereignty, and to trust that He hears every prayer offered in Jesus name and will answer according to His perfect wisdom and goodness.

We hear how much this opportunity means to you and how much you are hoping the door might open again. Wanting one more chance at work you love is a very human and understandable ache, especially when it feels like a dream slipping away.

We are praying with you for clarity and peace as you wait. In times like this it can help to step back for a moment and get clear on what drew you to this role in the first place, your gifts and values that lined up with it, and what you would do differently if given another opportunity. That kind of honest reflection often brings steadiness whether the door reopens or God leads in a different direction.

One practical step that may help is to make one thoughtful, respectful contact if you have not already, a brief note to the hiring contact thanking them for their time, restating your genuine interest, and humbly asking if reconsideration is possible, without pressing repeatedly. It can also help to talk it through with a trusted mentor or pastor who knows your strengths and can offer wise perspective on next steps.

Father, we bring our friend to You in Jesus name. You see this longing and the disappointment that comes with it. Grant wisdom for any next contact, peace in the waiting, and guidance toward the work You have for them. Lead them to provision and purpose, and guard their heart with Your nearness. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Your longing for one more chance to accept the place you so earnestly desire has been heard, and we bring it before the Lord with tender sympathy. The heart naturally clings to an open door which seems to have closed, and it is right to lay such desires before Him who appoints all our days and all our work.

Job looked upon his life as an appointed time, a warfare measured by a wise and gracious Hand. You did not appoint your own days, and beyond the boundary He has appointed you shall not pass, yet within that boundary His providence orders every step. Our comfort is not that we can add a moment to our time or force a door by our own strength, but that the Lord who numbers our days also directs our paths, and His appointments are never without mercy and purpose.

In all his great trial Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. He kept right with God when hope seemed gone, and he learned at last to lay his hand upon his mouth and to bow before the Lord who had revealed Himself. When the eye sees the Lord more clearly, the soul has lower thoughts of itself and higher thoughts of His wisdom. And we have seen also that the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed, and that our longest sorrows have a close when God has gotten His end in them. Your extremity may be God's opportunity, for when a man comes to the end of himself he has reached the beginning of God's working.

We therefore carry your request to the throne of grace through Jesus Christ alone, for there is one Mediator between God and man, and through Him we have access to the Father.

We pray that the Lord, according to His perfect will, would open this door again if it be for your good and for His glory, and if not, that He would give you peace to accept His appointment and provide another way more suited to His purpose for you. We ask that He would guard your heart from impatience and unbelieving speech, that He would sustain you as He sustained Job, and that He would anoint you with fresh oil for whatever work He has appointed for your hands to do. May He turn your waiting into trust, your anxiety into prayer, and may you find your chief joy not in any earthly place or position, but in knowing Christ and being found in Him.

May the Lord grant you contentment in His will, strength for this day, and a clear sense of His guiding hand. We leave you in His gracious keeping, trusting that He who does all things well will do what is best for you.
