Marriage

Dear God,

Today is the day that You have made! Please help us to push away any negative emotions we have, and help us to see this day as an opportunity to praise You and be used by You! We pray Lord, that we can be still today and just rest in You. We pray that we can spend time getting to know You, lifting our hearts to You, and meditating on Your word. We pray that our attitude will change, that our worry and stress will disappear, and that your peace overwhelms us! We pray that...

 

Dear Lord,

Grab our hearts and transform them! Break any holds that the enemy has including addiction, alcoholism, workaholism and negative attitudes. Lord, reconcile us to each other. Remind us of the promise we made at the altar, and the love that motivated that promise.

Dear Lord,

You are so good, and your love will endure forever! Thank you for marriage! We lift up couples who are facing hardships right now, especially husbands and wives who have a spouse in prison. We may not know or understand all of their circumstances, but You do, and we ask that You intercede for them. Grace and mercy are powerful elements to a testimony and we know that You are a loving God who knows the hearts of those in prison. We pray for salvation and the truth to enlighten...​

We pray for families who are going through financial problems right now. Families that are in major debt, that lost jobs, who have been hit with unexpected bills. God, give these families peace. Show them how to trust You more in these times. Teach them through Your word how to be better stewards of their finances, bring to them resources and blessing to take care of their needs, and remind them that You will never leave them or forsake them. When we read about the roles of marriage in Scripture, specifically about respect, and how that is a picture of the church’s role toward Christ, we realize that we do not always respect You well. We disrespect You when we are not patient with others. We disrespect You when we are lazy or selfish. We disrespect You every day when we don’t give You the honor and glory You deserve. LORD FORGIVE US FOR OUR DISRESPECT! Please help us to be more respectful.

Dear Lord,

Thank you, for your mercies are new every morning and we know we need your mercy. Lord, take our hearts and make us safe for our children and each other. We pray that we would choose our words wisely so that we do not harm our family. We pray that we would control our anger so that we would not hurt our family. Our homes and marriages should be safe places for each other and our children. Convict our hearts if we are not cultivating this kind of safety.
