Dear Lord,

Thank You for the life we have in our bodies. We pray we would be a couple who encourages one another toward living healthy lifestyles. We pray we would make wise choices when it comes to what we eat. We pray we would make time to exercise. Please help us to manage healthy lifestyles so that we are fit and able to do more ministry for Your Kingdom as You need us. May You be glorified by the temples of our bodies and how we live in faithfulness to You in Jesus’ name AMEN...

 

Dear Lord,

Thank You for Your patience with us. Thank You for loving us and leading us with patience. We pray we would be patient with one another. We pray we would walk and talk slowly with each other. We pray we would be slow to get angry or offended. We pray we would be quick to forgive and quick to reconcile when there is an offense. We also know how important it is to share daily with each other about all that is on our hearts. We pray we would get better at communicating our expectations with each other. I was listening to a podcast this morning as I was on my morning walk. It was about how the science of relationships work. And one of the things that really stuck out to me was the person being interviewed kept saying, “If you want to have a happy relationship, here is what your partner needs to do.”

But here’s why that’s not helpful, and doesn’t work. Because you can’t control what your spouse or your partner does. You can only control what you do.
