Plenty of Christians proclaim a strong belief, read the Word of God, and try to live godly lives. However, when it comes to the bedroom, we may be tempted to base our beliefs on traditional viewpoints about sex, our gut feelings about the issue, or secular teachings about sexuality.

Let’s look at each of these.

The Way It’s Been Done​

Dear Lord,

Thank you for our lives. We know that You have equipped us with knowledge, talent, and resources. We pray that we can use all that You have given to us to help others. Use us to draw others toward You. We pray that helping others and seeing them succeed blesses You and honors You. We pray we would be generous with our time and what we have to offer to those in need, especially each other and our family.

Dear Lord,

Make us men and women of Your word. Make us strong in Your word. Your word is a lamp unto our feet and a light on our path. Your Word is what sustains us, and it is food for our souls. Your word is profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness. Thank you for Your Word.

Dear Lord,

Thank you for today and thank you for our marriage. Father, we pray for our words and ask that You would help us control them. Our words are so powerful. They can bring life and death. They can build up or tear down. Give us a conviction in our hearts for the things we say and how we say them, especially the words we use toward one another and our children. Thank you Lord, for giving us Your Word and that He became flesh, and now lives in us.

Thank you for my spouse. Father, give us peace and joy today. Fill us so much so that it overflows into those around us. We pray that our children and others would be filled with the extra peace and joy that is pouring out of us.
