So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets (Matthew 7:12). The bible verse above encourages us to do unto others as you would have done unto you. In today’s society, this would be the same as saying: treat others the way you want to be treated. As Christians, I believe we can refer to the life of Jesus as a guide on how we’re to treat others. Jesus Life as a Guide on How to Treat Others When Jesus began His ministry on earth, He didn’t come saying, “I am God, serve me and do as I say.” When Christ came, one of the many things He showed His disciples (including you and I) was how we’re to treat others. He forgave sins and past mistakes, showed mercy and grace to those...

I am finding myself looking at the heavens a lot more these days. I am trying to watch and enjoy as many sunrises and sunsets as I can, and I am letting their beauty fill my soul with happiness. I love seeing God paint the heavens with glorious reds, purples, pinks, oranges, and golds. I love gazing with wonder at these ever-changing masterpieces. Every sunrise feels like God is welcoming us to a new day full of wonder and delight. Every sunset feels like God is kissing us goodnight and wishing us sweet dreams. Every time I look at them too I feel God’s peace and joy, and I know that I am loved by the greatest love imaginable. Looking at the heavens helps me to feel the Heaven inside myself too. When I gaze at the sky and witness...
Make a Right onto Believeth Blvd. Keep straight and go through the Green Light, which is Jesus Christ. There, you must turn onto the Bridge of Faith, which is over troubled water. When you get off the bridge, make a Right turn and Keep Straight. You are on the King's Highway-Heaven-bound. Then exit off onto Grace Blvd. From there, make a Right turn on Gospel Lane. Keep Straight and then make another Right on Prayer Road. As you go on your way, Yield Not to the traffic on Temptation Ave. Also, avoid SIN Street because it is a DEAD END. Pass up Envy Drive, and Hate Avenue. Also, pass Hypocrisy Street, Gossiping Lane, and Backbiting Blvd. However, you have to go down Long-suffering Lane, Persecution Blvd. and Trials...
Let’s face it; one of the most devastating things a person can experience is getting laid off from work or being turned down for numerous positions due to business slowing or shutting down. Today, while applying for jobs, I begin to feel hopeless, somewhat depressed and a desire to give up. There’s nothing worse than being told, “We’re not hiring” or “we’ll contact you if we’re interested” leaving you no hope of employment. Glory be to God, there’s encouragement for those dealing with unemployment depression and stress. Although you may have lost your job and feel like giving up, though you may feel scared, I want to encourage you and let you know that you’re not alone; that your help comes from the Lord. However, in order for you to...
The following article was written by Mercy Adeyanju Mabwe. I pray it blesses you in Jesus name. Why am I discouraged? Why is my heart so sad? I will put my hope in God! I will praise him again— my Savior and my God! (Psalm 43:5) Depression can be so painful and deep- deep to the bone marrow of your soul hurting the physical and spiritual aspect of our lives. But Jesus came that we might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). My brother/sister let us rise up from our ashes. I know it hurts so bad, I know you do not even want to eat or feel like eating or vice versa. Yes you don’t feel like smiling, bathing or even praying and praising. Yes, I don’t know what you are going through. But Jesus knows it all, and it is not...
Trusting God When the Door Seem to Be Closing With so much happening in the world today – the recession, job lost, and etc it seems like all the doors closes right in front of our faces. It seems like there’s no way out of the situation we’re in. We pray and pray (day and night) asking God to open up the windows of opportunity for us, but what do you do when all the doors seems to be closed. There’s encouragement for you today. When One Door Closes, Another One Opens There are times when we pray and ask God for things. “God bless me with a job; give me that promotion at work; help me to pay my bills and etc”. We ask God for a lot of things. However, we never ask God to open doors He wants to be open and shut doors He wants to be...
Blessed are you, King of the Universe, who has created this world. Generation after generation, human beings praise your deeds. Your powerful actions proclaim love to all. Through the words of prophets and psalmists, you have announced to all the world the value, importance, and the need for peace. Show and teach us, Lord, your paths that lead all peoples to understand the value of peace. You listen with love and protect the weak and downtrodden; you teach the value of freedom, justice, and fellowship. We witness your endless dedication to humanity and your eternal love. We proclaim your glory and we sing your praises, aware of your kindness and the miracles you perform. We beg you, Lord our God, for the miracle of true...
I am the Lord, your Holy One, Israel’s Creator and King. I am the Lord, who opened a way through the waters, making a dry path through the sea. I called forth the mighty army of Egypt with all its chariots and horses. I drew them beneath the waves, and they drowned, their lives snuffed out like a smoldering candlewick. But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. - Isaiah 43:15-19 How many times have you looked to your left and right crying out to God because both ways appeared to be a dead end? I come to tell you that you serve a God who is...
It’s easy to say, “give your cares to the Lord and trust Him” when everything in life seems to be going well. It’s easy to say, “I trust you Lord with everything I own” when bills are paid on time and when you just got a promotion at work. However, if God striped you of everything you own; If God told you to leave the very job that’s paying your bills, will you trust the Lord enough to do it? Will you trust God even when you don’t understand; even when life hurts? If God told you to leave the familiar and enter the unfamiliar, will you trust Him? For many of you, God has done just that. He has taken you from what’s “oh so familiar” and redirected your paths into the unfamiliar. You don’t understand what’s happening in your life; what to...
