Hello all I hope and pray your Thanksgiving was a blessed and joyful day. I know how hard it can be being apart from your beloved spouse. I am going to share how my day went before I start this post. I was invited to my sisters home for Thanksgiving and so was my wife and the other man. I assured my wife I am okay with them coming and I will be fine. She said she didn't want to ruin my day or my birthday since yesterday was my birthday (and also my wife's birthday) she wanted to make sure my day was good. I did tell her she wouldn't ruin my day but she said she knew she wouldn't but he will. My wife did end up texting me allot yesterday asking about the kids and the family. It was obvious she was missing the family. Her day was not a...
HAPPY THANKSGIVING! “...Give thanks to the Lord Almighty, for the Lord is good; his love endures forever...†Jeremiah 33:11 Our family and staff wish you a blessed Thanksgiving Day! You may be cooking for your family or you may have been invited to a family or friend's house or you may be alone this Thanksgiving Day. May you know that you are in our prayers today. You may be hurting and deeply disappointed that you are facing another year without your beloved husband or wife on Thanksgiving Day. I totally understand your pain and sorrow. My prayer is that you feel the presence of the Holy Spirit with you today. Ask the Lord to be your spouse today wherever you go and pray, “Lord, help me through this day. Hold my hand, guide and...
THANKSGIVING MEMORIES Where are you today? Is this your first Thanksgiving alone or are you having another Thanksgiving without your beloved spouse home with your family? I know how you are hurting and are disappointed that your spouse has not come home, yet. This Thanksgiving may you thank the Lord for all He is doing on the other side of your mountain. I pray that you have made plans to be with family members or you are having dinner with a brother or sister in the Lord’s family. If you are invited to go to someone’s house, please go and pray blessings on them. Be a lighthouse for the Lord. Three years ago our family ate our Thanksgiving dinner at Lori’s with all the trimmings at noon. Then Thanksgiving afternoon my children...
Three Thanksgivings I wash my hands in innocence, and go about your altar, LORD, proclaiming aloud your praise and telling of all your wonderful deeds. Psalm 26:6-7 I felt led by the Lord to share with you about three consecutive Thanksgivings in my life. Let's call them holidays A, B, and C. Thanksgiving A was about five months after our final separation. I was living in a motel. No, not an efficiency, but the least expensive place I could locate. It wasn't much. When I left home, I envisioned living happily ever after with a co-worker. She had gone north to be with her family for Thanksgiving. My holiday meal that day was a TV dinner, eaten alone on a folding card table in my room. That year I had called Charlyne and asked if I...
I was thinking today to see if I can find my poetry online today, discovered a few main themes in all, peace, love and God. I wrote them all 21 years or younger I believe. I know what I want, are my feelings to strong? or the feeling you place in my heart, are they all wrong? I dont want to wait any longer, I want my life to be better, my heart to grow stronger. I want someone who is true, and I can adore I will only then submit myself to him, then I will be faithful to him forevermore. Who is this person?you know of his name, do we live in different states? or do we live in the same? did we ever go to the same store, have I ever seen, or met him before? How does he smile?what is his laugh? is he a sensitive person, does he cry, when...
WITH THANKSGIVING Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 What is the state of your heart this Monday before Thanksgiving? Is it a heart that is rejoicing because the Lord has completed the good work He began? Is it a heart that is thankful for the glimpses of God’s work on the other side of your mountain? Is it a heart that is at peace because of the Lord’s blessed hand of protection and providence in your life? I hope and pray that it is all of these and more. Holidays are tough for standers. No doubt about...
Lord, I've enjoyed this time of prayer, but as I walk out into the world, lead me not into temptation. Don't allow me to walk into the devil's trap. I know the enemy is setting a trap out there. I don't know what form it is going to take, and I know I am still weak in certain areas. Given the right circumstances, I will yield to temptation. Protect me, Lord. When you see me turning the corner where the trap has been set, cause me to turn the other way. Intervene, O Lord. Don't let me move in only my own strength and ability. Deliver me from the evil one. Here's good and powerful prayer to commit yourself to LORD. This prayer is meant for those who want to commit suicide, but I got some warm feeling when I prayed this even tough I did not have plans for suicide when I prayed it. Let me know in comments, what You think of it and in what cases would You pray it? Prayer to God Father, in the name of Jesus, I come before You, confessing my need for You, and crying out to you from the bottom of my heart. Lord, You’ve said that you are near to those whose hearts are breaking and that you give grace to the humble. I humble myself before you now…I cast down any pride or self-justification that I would hide behind, and I present myself to you as I truly am–weak and helpless and despairing...
Serenity is not freedom from the storm...but peace amid the storm... A true spiritual well being...one can know of peace of mind, body an soul... This tranquil place is elusive to many...for it is said...the Holy Spirit within one's self... there one can find serenity...by the grace of God...the Holy Spirit...may it come unto all... Within one's conscience...the Holy Spirit is found...this too is elusive to many... The world cannot give this...unto one's own self to know of the Holy Spirit within... God conscience...and the Holy Spirit shall come unto...this is known to be... I am you...you are I...
We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then...
