One way to get at the meaning of the principle of acceptance is to meditate upon it in the context of a much used prayer...Serenity Prayer. Essentially this is to ask for the resources of grace by which one may make spiritual progress under all conditions. Greatly emphasized in this wonderful prayer is a need for the kind of wisdom that discriminates between the possible and the impossible. We shall also see that life's formidable array of pains and problems will require many different degrees of acceptance as we try to apply this valued principle. Sometimes we have to find the right kind of acceptance for each day. Sometimes we need to develop acceptance for what may come to pass tomorrow, and yet again we shall have to accept a...
I love the old hymn that says, “Trust and obey, for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey.” I’m convinced this is God’s objective for you today: to impact the world by being “happy in Jesus.” But it’s crucial to understand that the Christian life is not meant to be lived by studying what Jesus did and trying to duplicate it in your own strength. Rather than just being a script to be read and acted out, the Christian life is Jesus living His life through you by the power of the Holy Spirit. That’s why Paul makes the amazing statement, “When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory” (Colossians 3:4). Jesus doesn’t just give us life, He IS our life! In fact, Paul says, “It is no...
ALL the works and plans of the devil have already been destroyed, by Jesus. Every work, every plan, all disease and sickness, all our infirmities, all our unrest, all our poverty, all pain, anything which is a work of the devil has already been defeated by Jesus. We are not fighting to gain a victory over the works of the devil at this time because Jesus has already done that. We are fighting from a place of victory and wanting to see that victory manifest in our lives. If we pray like we are trying to gain a victory over the devil and his works then we are praying in unbelief, because our faith should be based on what Jesus has already done, for us. We walk by faith, not by what we see. The only battle we are in now is with ourselves...
Defined me not by what people say about me. Define me by what Jesus thinks of me and see me do things on a daily basis. Listen carefully the voice of the Lord. I am going to prepare a mansion. For you and for me. And where I am there you may be also. Can you believe?? Jesus is thinking about us. Each child of God should be thankful, We are going to have a mansion in heaven. We are going to inherit the kingdom of God. Follow peace with all men, And holiness without which no man shall see the Lord. Did you hear God's voice today? Are you following what He said? Are we obeying His commands? I am trying as much as I can. With the help of my God.... I can do all things through Christ... Who...
At times we think that we were right and would take years to regret for what we said or did to our partners, I fought with my wife today as she wasn’t allowing me to do my workout and yelled at her, she simply kept disturbing me and wasn’t allowing me do anything on my own. After some time I lost my cool and yelled at her and didn’t speak with her for the rest of the day neither did she speak to me for the entire day, I felt that I was right and on the other hand she felt what she did was right — in fact who is right here, was it me or her, I don’t know? But none of us felt remorse and didn’t feel the pain of holding to our egos — though we didn’t have any pain out of our fight there is one who is sobbing due to this — our heavenly...
When David met Goliath, the armies of Israel were very fearful of the Philistine army and were probably praying to God to shield and protect them from the Philistines. David did not join in with their voices of fear. Instead, he spoke his opinion. 1 Samuel 17:26 And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God? David's focus was on God, not the enemy. David knew that one person, and God, were a majority. And with this thought in mind, David attacked Goliath the giant and defeated him, with a sling. David knew God, and knew God was the most...
When I used to live in ### we would go to the mountains every once in a while. The best time to go is in the fall when all the leaves are changing colors. The trees are beautiful. The ### has walking trails along the road that you can stop and walk. It is so beautiful and you don’t want to rush through it. You want to take it step by step. As you walk the paths and look around you see the different colored leaves of yellow, red, orange, rust and even burgundy colored. It would be a shame to drive through without enjoying the wonder of it and the majesty of God that gave birth to it all. When we first receive Jesus as Lord the wonder in our hearts and the overwhelming love we start to feel is just the beginning. There is so much more...
Believe that God has hears our prayers. He always hears our prayers. His ear is never deaf, He is never too busy. He is as far away as you, because as a believer and reborn child of God He lives in you, along with the Holy Spirit, and Jesus. He has already forgiven us of every sin, mistake, and shortcoming in our past, in our present, and in our future. If we mention to Him a sin we commit He will reply back, "what?, I don't remember that". If He cannot remember, why bring it up to Him in prayer. We do not have to be "good enough" to get our prayers heard. In the Old Testament, like in Deuteronomy 28, people did something good and God then blessed them. In the New Testament, as born again people, believers are now considered "good...
