Drawing near to the wonderful throne of God is the most beautiful feeling we can have. To fix our eyes on the glorious face of Jesus. Smiling, caring, waiting for all of us to come to Him. All men shall fall down before Him in worship, in adoration, in praise to Him who did it all for us. Every tongue of men shall confess that He is King of kings and Lord of lords. Let us all turn our eyes from worthless things and fix our eyes on Jesus. Blessed be Him now and forever more. Amen
I will look again into the light of Gods mercy. I shall wake up in the middle of the night and tell Jesus that I love Him with all of my heart. Fighting temptations and evil desires that comes to my mind. I am choosing to forget what I have done. But Jesus knows all our hearts desire. Cleanse us o Lord and purify our hearts wih Your mercy. Finally my brothers, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Eph. 6.10 Let us all rise above our hearts weakness. Cut out the longings we have for the world, the flesh and the pursuit of riches and glory. We shall not take anything from earth. The only thing God will ask us when we get to heaven is this. How many souls have you brought to the feet of Jesus and if you kept...
5 Tips to help you Deepen your Prayer Life. Prayer. We know it’s good for us, a healthy habit we want to include in our lifestyle. But do you really appreciate the awesome Power of Prayer? How can you deepen your Prayer Life, make it more vital and energized? These 5 tips can help: Move beyond just Asking. Of course, we should ask the Lord for what we need. He encourages, “Ask and it will be given you” (Matthew 7:7). But suppose you had a Friend who never spoke to you unless he was asking you for something. Wouldn’t that be a strange Friendship? Incorporate Praise into your Prayers; read the Psalms aloud; thank God for his wisdom and guidance. And don’t forget that Prayer time is also for Confession…and...
If you’re like most people, you’re afraid of something. It’s only natural. But if we let our insecurities rule our behavior, we are not letting “the peace of Christ rule in your hearts” (Colossians 3:15). While we heed the voice of our fears, we cannot hear the voice of the Shepherd; “no one can serve two masters” (Matthew 6:24). So how do we begin to identify—and eliminate—the issues that keep us from God? We need to start by admitting that fear interferes. Whether it’s dread of loneliness, loss, separation, catastrophe or suffering, all of us have something which triggers anxiety and steps between our hearts and God. Here are 3 things that can help you make progress in this area: 1. Figure out the...
The key to a rich spiritual life is not how much you get done in a day, but taking time; time to just "Be." Everyone knows, of course, the familiar line from Shakespeare’s great play, Hamlet: “To be, or not to be, that is the question.” But few of us really believe it. To us the question is, “To do, or not to do.” The most casual glance at our lifestyles will clearly and certainly reveal that. Many of us spend our lives in spasms of activity. We speed through frantic work and frenzied leisure, as if the theme song to our lives is a ‘50s doo-wop song: We “go, go, go” and “do, do, do.” And day after day, month after month, year after year, that becomes our life: doing, not being. But isn’t it interesting that, when...
Dogs were her life. But she never thought a dog would save her life. Dogs have always held a special place in my heart. Where others might just see an animal, I see a part of my family. So when my boxer, Floyd Henry, came up to me one evening while I was sitting on the sofa, I put down my novel and leaned in to give him a hug. “Come here, boy,” I said, holding out my arms. He put his paws up on the sofa cushion and settled into my embrace. But then he reared his big square head. “What is it?” I asked. “What’s got you startled?” Floyd Henry regarded me with a questioning expression. This is odd. Floyd Henry had never given me such a concerned look before. Not in all of the five years we’d been together. He...
For those of us in the ER, dealing with death in our own department is difficult enough. But from time to time we are also called upon to deal with a death that has occurred elsewhere in the hospital. When someone dies, a physician is needed to certify and then document that a death has actually occurred. This responsibility clearly falls to the treating physician. However, if it’s late at night or the middle of a weekend and that patient’s physician is not in the hospital, the ER doc on duty might seem a reasonable alternative. After all, he or she is in the hospital, awake, and “available.” One night Bill Jones called and asked me to go upstairs and pronounce one of his patients. “Sure, Bill,” I responded. “Mr. Blake in...
The ABCs of having a meaningful conversation with GOD We communicate with people every day–our family, friends, co-workers. The cashier at the grocery store, the barista making your coffee, the chatty woman on the bus. Conversation is a natural and essential part of our lives. But how are we to talk to God? It’s as simple as A, B, C. A: Focus on GOD. We can know about anyone by hearsay, but to actually know someone requires interaction. A rich prayer life requires us to be attentive to God. Unfortunately we, like Martha, are easily distracted by all we need to do (Luke 10:40). Our minds rush off to other thoughts, and we are not fully tuned into the conversation. If we are to speak openly with the Lord our God...
That is adoration. That is worship. That is acknowledging Him as King of kings and Lord of Lords. O Jesus, fill our cup. It is empty. Come and quench the thristing of our soul. Fill my cup and fill it up and make me whole. A woman in that town, who lived a sinful life learned that Jesus was eating at the Pharisees house. So she came there with an alabaster jar of perfume. As she stood behind Him weeping, she began to wet His feet with her tears. Then she wiped it with her hair. Kiss them and poured perfume on them. Luke 7.37,38 For You o Lord are glorious and worthy to be praised. Unto You o Lord we lift our voices. You certainly are the Lamb upon the throne. This sinful recognize this wonderful truth and did what her...
There was a young woman who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and had been given three months to live. So as she was getting her things 'in order,' she contacted her Pastor and had him come to her house to discuss certain aspects of her final wishes. She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she would like read, and what outfit she wanted to be buried in. Everything was in order and the Pastor was preparing to leave when the young woman suddenly remembered something very important to her. 'There's one more thing,' she said excitedly... 'What's that?' came the Pastor's reply. 'This is very important,' the young woman continued. 'I want to be buried with a fork in my Right hand.'...
