Be a peacemaker Saturday 1st December 2018 'Blessed are the peacemakers.' Matthew 5:9 NIV When we find ourselves in the middle of conflict or an argument, we can decide to be the troublemaker, or the peacemaker. We can choose to add to the stress and tension, or to be part of the solution. What are some qualities of peacemakers? They look for a solution where everyone involved wins. Let's take a look at the story of Barnabas and Saul of Tarsus (read the full story in Acts 9:19-31). Barnabas, whose name means 'Son of Consolation', stood up for the newly-converted Saul, who became Paul. The leaders of the church were nervous about Paul, and you could hardly blame them. Before his conversion, he'd been hunting down Christians and...
Please read prayer requests before you agree and give it your Amen in the name that is above every other name, the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Trolls frequent this site and I just came across a lewd, pornographic description (x-rated) that was posted here probably just for fun or to mock us who are praying and people had posted "I prayed for this in Jesus name". Seriously? Obviously they have not read the request at all or they would not have agreed with something like that. PLEASE READ THE REQUESTS BEFORE YOU RESPOND. Also, there have been quite a few times that I've noticed prayer requests where people pray for other people to be cursed (maybe they got hurt by someone and are angry with them). We ought never to curse...
Persistent faith Friday 30th November 2018 'One day Elisha went to Shunem. And a well-to-do woman was there.' 2 Kings 4:8 NIV When things start going wrong in our lives, do we start losing hope and give up praying because the breakthrough isn't coming, or do we expectantly and persistently keep the faith knowing that God will come through for us? The Bible tells the story of a woman and her husband who welcomed the prophet Elisha into their home. In return for their hospitality, Elisha asked what they wanted. They said, 'A son,' so they had one. But when their son was taken ill and died, the woman faced a crucial decision: would she lose hope and blame God for not providing a healthy child, or would she have faith? This woman...
Do not let the devil tell you awful things about your life. In the past we did terrible things against Jesus. But He touched us. Cleansed us. Purify our souls and now we are free to serve Him, to love Him, to care for others, to pray for lost souls. Something happen and now we know. He really touched us and made us whole. For what? a. To be missionaries to other countries. b. To open soup kitchens and feed the hungry. c. To love the Lord with all our heart, mind and soul. d. To clothe the naked. Jesus will come to you and bless your life. e. To visit the sick and those in prison. Tell them how much Jesus loves them and cares for them. f. Then sings my soul, my Savior God to me. He saved me for a reason. My past is gone...
Rejoice. All parents are missionaries to their own chidren. To lead them to our heavenly home. To love just as Jesus loved and to care for those tiny souls that comes to all of us. 1. Teach them that Jesus loves them because of who they are not by what people think who they have become. 2. Teach them the value of honesty and good behavior before the Lord and before others. 3. Teach them to make amends. Tell them. I am sorry when you hurt someone. 4. Teach them to have determination to reach heaven even though the path will be stressful and hard. 5. Teach them to lovo others just as Jesus loved all of us. Love covers all offenses. Jesus taugh all of us to be merciful just as your heavenly Father is merciful. Children...
Spending and borrowing Thursday 29th November 2018 'The borrower is the slave of the lender.' Proverbs 22:7 ESV The Bible has a lot to say about how we should manage our money. Here are a few tips to help us: (1) Think about your money as God's rather than yours. We're called to be good stewards of the resources he's given us. He's trusted each of us with a certain resources, and expects us to use whatever we have wisely. (Read the parable of the three servants in Matthew 25:14-30 for an example.) (2) Remember the warning in Proverbs 22:7: 'the borrower is the slave of the lender' (ESV). When we borrow something, we have an obligation to give it back, fulfilling any conditions that the lender imposes on us. We have a choice to...
"This they do because they don't know the Father".I think idolatry is when a person or group of people take the object {or addiction, like a drug}and think it's the one thing that can help them.Of course, when they believe it's the only thing that can help them, they're ruling out God, because they're relying on it instead of God to help them. One thing in the present I think has become an idol{based on the large number of people praising it to the high Heavens, and thinking it's a cure-all for everything}is pot. In the past ,a certain type of person smoked it, but others didn't. Now, more and more I hear states legalizing it, editorials praising it like it's the greatest.{I mean even recreational pot.}They try to rationalize their support...
