One thing I hear over and over again these days--both from the world and those who "claim to be" Christians--is that certain Laws, and rules laid out for us in Bible times, only applied to "them" at that time, and were based on their culture "then", and don't apply now.Like, when it says "the women should dress modestly", now you might see a woman wearing one of those thong bathing suits, reasoning, "those Biblical instructions are "outdated". This is 2019. It would be ridiculous to follow it "nowadays". Or gay "marriage'.I've even heard many "so-called" Christians state that, well, now our culture is different, we're more "broadminded"{translation--accepting of sin}now, we've "advanced" since those days,,now we're more "accepting" of...
"The man of sin will not be revealed unless first comes the apostasy, the falling away""In Revelation,we read of the letters to the churches, and their good and bad points. When we get to the Laodicean church, there's almost nothing good to be said!! We see that there's a lot of compromise with the world. Now then, I notice those who pronounce themselves as Christians, but taking a closer look...like, there's this politician running on the Democratic side who claims to be Christian, but is a practicing homosexual!! {Not backslidden, but says you can be both, and has kept his "husband" while claiming Christianity.}He also says he backs abortion, right up to the moment of birth!!Furthermore, when real Christians call these things sin{as the...
When trouble comes, when trials are all over us and when no one comes along to help, Jesus will be thre with you and solve all your problems. Take all your burdens to the feet of Jesus, in adoration and worship, He will take everything away from you. Then, why should we worship Him? Why should we draw closer to His heart? Seek the Lord while He can be found. Call upon Him while He is near. Isa. 55.6 We all need to worship the Lord, before we wake up, during the day and at night. Worship the Lord in the beauty of His holiness. Blessings shall come to your life and the peace that passeth all understanding shall fill your heart with joy.
There are times when I think of somone, and I may.silently, to myself, pray for their salvation. But mostly I hear people pray out loud. Now I wonder, since Gods knows our thoughts and intents , is it mandatory to pray out loud? Will a silent prayer be just as effective? Is there a scripture that says that prayer must be out loud to be effective?Wondering….
The Holy Spirit Is Our Uniter The Book of Acts tells us that after the first disciples were baptized in the Holy Spirit, they were “continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer” (Acts 2:42, emphasis added). The Greek word used for fellowship, koinonia, appears here for the first time in the Bible and then is used 18 times throughout the New Testament. Koinonia, which also can be translated as “partnership,” is a supernatural grace that causes Christians to love one another deeply. It was not possible before Pentecost because it is a manifestation of the indwelling Holy Spirit. Just as the Spirit’s dunamis power enables us to heal the sick or work miracles, His...
