Holy Father, I pray the surfers have wisdom and don't get "stoked" over "big waves" and "heavy sets" and then literally get in way over their heads. Let it not "happen every time" THIS TIME, Lord. Give angels to rescue them, lifeguards, wave-runners, jet-skis, and wisdom to keep them from going out in the "big swell," in Jesus' Name. P.S. -- Calm this one and the two coming behind it. I know You can calm the whole season down... It's only August... Thanks again, ###
To: The Cities Who Have Ears To Hear The concept of "sin" related to a "bondwoman" in the biblical context is not about specific individual sins of a "slave," but rather an allegory used by the Apostle Paul in the book of Galatians to contrast two different covenants. For Paul himself was a self-professed slave for Christ, as am I also: The Bondwoman (Hagar) representing the Old Covenant (Law): In this allegory, the children born under the Old Covenant (like Ishmael, Hagar's son) are depicted as being in bondage to the law. The Free Woman (Sarah) representing the New Covenant (Grace): Those who come to God through faith in Jesus Christ are considered children of the free woman (like Isaac, Sarah's son) and are set free from the...
We know that God's speaks to His messengers through dreams and visions, but sometimes He give us signs even in the things that happen in the midst of our journey. Many of these stories we get to share, if we so choose. Yesterday, while I was sitting on a bench having lunch, a little squirrel came up to me, obviously seeking some of my food. I threw him a few crumbs. But, even with those big beautiful eyes he could not see where they were. So, I threw another one right in front of him. He picked it up; but, standing there on his hind legs, with the food in his little hands, he just kept looking at me, as though seeking more. Finally, he ate what was in his hands. But, of course, being a squirrel, he wanted more. Mind you, there were...
Forgiveness starts with repentance. God does not desire that we be dismissive regarding our wrongdoing, nor is He pleased when we turn our backs on those whom we've wronged. God’s protocol is clear: Luke 17 (NLT) ³"So watch yourselves! If another believer sins, rebuke that person; then if there is repentance, forgive. ⁴Even if that person wrongs you seven times a day and each time turns again and asks forgiveness, you must forgive.” How I would have loved for my brothers to have apologized, but that would've meant that they would've have had to first confess their wrong. They did not. Yet, even so, the reason I tried for so long is because God had been so very patient with me during my many years of unforgiveness. Howbeit, I...
Heavenly Father, thank You Jesus showed power over creation. We ask You calm the storms and the seas this Hurricane Season. We specifically ask You qualm and mollify Hurricane Erin as it passes the Caribbean Islands and divert it out to sea rather than the inland East Coast. Jesus, we say in Your Name what it seemed You wanted the Disciples to say, "Peace! Be still!," Matt 8:26, Mark 4:29, Luke 8:24. Protect people and let Your people prepare in advance for this upcoming season with water, canned goods, flashlights, batteries, generators and solar with battery back-up. Let people hear and heed warnings. Grant wisdom for portable battery cells for phone charging, let people have their emergency alerts on and audible and keep their phones...
My biggest regret in all this is that I didn't surrender to God's nudge much earlier in my life. What time I wasted. I wish I could have those years back. It has been absolutely amazing watching Him do His thing. His Word is so accurate, and His power is so awesome that it's sometimes overwhelming simply to bear witness. I'm not an overly emotional person, but I must confess that I get inexplicably teary eyed just thinking about His glory. Whenever I behold His beauty, everything else takes a far distant backseat. There just aren't enough words. Thank You LORD. He's so amazing It's awesome
When a city's false prophets (unrighteous counselors) has her strung out on superstition, literally going around in circles, time is almost spent. God is not playing games. In fact, this urgency is not about games, at all. Not that He doesn't already know, but now, even God demands that you expose "snitch on" your false counsel, or else. Isaiah 57:11 (MSG) "Who talked you into the pursuit of this nonsense, leaving me high and dry, forgetting you ever knew me? Because I don't yell and make a scene do you think I don't exist?" That which has been done to the human ensign shall be done to the city. Indeed, the stage has been set.... Jeremiah 22:21-23 (MSG) ²¹"I spoke to you when everything was going your way. You said, "I'm not...
The ultimate and obvious example of suffering out of love for God and humanity is Jesus, The Suffering Servant, The Anointed One, Messiah, The Christ... "But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the angels, namely, Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone. For it was fitting for Him, for Whom are all things, and through Whom are all things, in bringing many children to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings," Heb 2:9-10. "Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and...
Like, just about everything else in the Bible, "Kiss the Son" is a metaphor, which must be spiritually discerned. Simply put: ADORE JESUS Love Jesus. To love Him is to obey Him. To obey Him, honors Him. John 14:15 (NLT) “If you love me, obey my commandments." Howbeit, Jesus also said, John 12 (NLT) ⁴⁷I will not judge those who hear Me but don’t obey me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it. ⁴⁸But all who reject me and my message will be judged on the day of judgment by the truth I have spoken. Jesus, did not come to judge man, He came to offer man the opportunity to be spared from God's judgement. Those who reject Him will still be judged. This is especially true for our leaders, whom God has set in place; and...
Though the devil has many devices, he is not very creative. It's always the same old tired lie: "God is withholding something good from you." Genesis 2 (NIV) ¹⁶And the LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; ¹⁷but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die." The devil has been lying from the beginning. He first deceived himself with the delusion that he could somehow unseat God. LIE! Then he thought He could thwart God's plans by deceiving Eve with the accusation that "God was blocking her blessing." LIE! Now days, disguised in the tempting morsel of greed, the devil continues to use the same recycled lie against the world at...
