Today’s Scripture “Isn’t it obvious that God deliberately chose men and women that the culture overlooks and exploits and abuses, chose these “nobodies” to expose the hollow pretensions of the “somebodies”?...” (1 Corinthians 1:27, MSG) In Luke 9, when Jesus fed the five thousand, they only counted the men. They didn’t count the children or the women, who were regarded as second class, less than back then. Yet it was a small boy, the least likely among the crowd, who brought the lunch that fed the crowd. God uses people that other people don’t count. Could it be that you’re not reaching your highest potential because you feel like you’re not counted, you’re lacking in some area, now you’re not expecting anything good, not pursuing...
“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it...” (Proverbs 4:23, NIV) One of our most important responsibilities is to keep our hearts pure. It’s easy to let what’s on the outside get on the inside. It takes discipline to say, “I’m not going to dwell on that offense. I’m not going to feel sorry for myself because something didn’t work out.” Maybe you need to forgive somebody, or maybe you’re still sour about a dream that didn’t work out, or maybe you’re still beating yourself up over a mistake you made. You only have so much emotional energy each day. It’s not an unlimited supply. Do you know how much energy it takes to hold a grudge, to go around offended? That’s wasting valuable energy that you need for...
We read in Revelation the letters to the churches. And one thing that stands out is, the writer notes that each church has some points where they follow the Lord perfectly ... but also, each one has some area that they are "weak" in--And also, not in the same areas. One may have victory in one area, but a shortcoming in another, or vice versa. Those are churches as a whole, but looking around at individuals, I see similar. One stands out spectacularly in one area {or more} but may have a "weakness" in a certain area, the other Christian, vice versa. So when we look at it, are we much, or any different than the churches mentioned in Revelation? {Like, one thing I've seen, is a "Christian" who maybe gets friendly with some homosexuals...
“...I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well...” (Psalm 139:14, NIV) Life will try to make you feel as though you’re anything but amazing. Disappointments, betrayals, and rejection will try to steal your sense of value. You may feel ordinary, but because of your Maker, there’s something about you that makes you extremely valuable. You’re an original. You can’t get any more prestigious than that. If you’re going to recognize your value, you have to see yourself as amazing, as wonderful. It’s not because of who you are, but because of who made you. You have the fingerprints of God all over you. All through the day, you need to remind yourself, “I am amazing. I am a...
```markdown UNITY BEGINS WITH JUSTICE Because of wayward leaders who travel far and wide to make one proselyte, to knowingly mislead them, there are converts among us who, having the taste of enslavement in their mouths, choose to endorse oppression. Please understand, being cognisant of God's timeline, this nation has already lived out that part of prophecy; this is our season of reckoning and redemption. We must not allow the misguided agenda of a few, cost this nation her opportunity to walk in God's covenanted grace. Justice; not judgement: Legal JUSTICE Economic JUSTICE Racial JUSTICE JUSTICE Though God says He will not be inquired of us, He will hear and respond in favor to our HUMBLE REPENTANCE. Humility is not...
“Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion...” (Isaiah 30:18, NIV) Do you ever think about the way your heavenly Father feels about you? He’s been thinking about you a long time. Jesus says, “It is the Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” He doesn’t say, “Okay, you’re here, and I have to take care of you, but you’re a pain.” No, you’re not a burden to God. You’re not inconveniencing Him. You’re the apple of His eye. He’s saying to you, “I can’t wait to give you My world.” His world is big, abundant, full of favor, joy, peace, and opportunity. He’s going to take you places you never dreamed, open doors bigger than you’ve imagined, and bring talent out of you that you didn’t...
