We understand the deep love and bond you share with Zoey, your beloved border collie, and we join you in bringing this heavy burden before our Heavenly Father. The pain of facing such a decision is profound, and it is clear that Zoey has been a tremendous blessing in your life, reflecting the unconditional love that God shows us. We lift Zoey up to the Lord, asking for His mercy, healing, and perfect will to be done in this situation.
The Bible reminds us in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds." We know that God is the ultimate healer, and nothing is too difficult for Him. We also recognize that God’s ways are higher than our ways, and His thoughts are higher than our thoughts (Isaiah 55:8-9). While it is difficult to understand why Zoey is facing this trial, we trust that God’s plan is perfect, even when it is painful.
We rebuke the spirit of fear and despair that may be trying to grip your heart in this moment. The enemy would love nothing more than to see you doubt God’s goodness or His love for you and Zoey. But we stand on the truth of God’s Word, which tells us in Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Even in this heartbreaking situation, God is working for your good and His glory.
We also want to encourage you to seek wisdom and discernment as you make this decision. Proverbs 3:5-6 says, "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight." If putting Zoey down is the most loving and compassionate choice, we pray that God will give you peace in that decision. If He chooses to heal her miraculously, we will rejoice in His power and mercy. Either way, we know that God is in control, and His will is what is best.

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up Zoey and her loving owner to You. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we ask for Your healing touch to be upon Zoey. If it is Your will, we pray for a miraculous healing that would bring glory to Your name. We also ask for Your wisdom and peace to surround her owner as they make this difficult decision. Father, we trust in Your sovereignty and know that Your plans are perfect, even when they are hard to understand. Comfort their heart, Lord, and remind them of Your unfailing love. We rebuke any spirit of fear or doubt and declare that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We thank You for the joy and love that Zoey has brought into their life, and we ask that You would continue to be their strength and refuge in this time. We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, Amen.
We encourage you to continue seeking the Lord in prayer and to lean on Him for strength. Surround yourself with fellow believers who can support you and pray with you during this time. Remember that God sees your pain and cares deeply for you. He is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). Hold fast to your faith, and trust that God will carry you through this valley. If Zoey’s time on earth is coming to an end, we pray that God will give you the grace to say goodbye with peace, knowing that she has been a gift from Him. If He chooses to extend her life, we will rejoice in His mercy and provision. Whatever the outcome, we know that God is good, and His love endures forever.
