We hear your heartbreak and concern for your granddaughter and son, and we lift this heavy burden before the Lord together. The pain of watching loved ones struggle with addiction and the fear of separation is profound, but we know that God sees every tear and holds every broken heart in His hands. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." We cling to this promise as we intercede for your family.

Father God, we come before You with humble and contrite hearts, seeking Your mercy and intervention. We ask that You would move powerfully in the life of our sister’s son, that he would turn away from the chains of addiction and surrender fully to You. Soften his heart, Lord, and let him experience the freedom that only comes through Christ. We pray for repentance, healing, and restoration in his life. Help him to seek the help he needs, whether through rehabilitation, counseling, or the support of godly men who can walk alongside him in this battle. Your Word says in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." We claim this promise over him, Lord.

For this precious granddaughter, we ask for Your protection and peace. The transition she is facing is undoubtedly frightening and confusing, but we trust that You will be her comfort and strength. Surround her with godly influences, people who will speak life, truth, and love into her heart. Guard her mind and emotions, Lord, and let her know that she is deeply loved by You and by her family. We pray that this season would draw her closer to You and that she would come to know Jesus as her Savior if she does not already. In Jeremiah 29:11, You promise, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." We declare this over her life, Father.

We also lift up the mother and father of this child, for we know this separation is painful for them as well. Strengthen them, Lord, and fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Help them to trust in Your sovereignty, even when the path ahead is unclear. Give them wisdom and discernment as they navigate this difficult season, and let them lean on You for strength. Remind them that You are their refuge and fortress, as Psalm 91:2 declares: "I will say of Yahweh, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.'"

Father, we must also address the reality of sin in this situation. Addiction is a bondage that separates us from You and destroys lives, families, and futures. We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus and command it to loose its grip on our brother’s life. We pray for true repentance, not just a temporary change, but a transformed heart that seeks after You. In James 4:7-8, Your Word says, "Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." We stand on this truth, Lord, and declare that our brother will draw near to You and find the strength to resist the enemy’s lies.

If this family does not yet know You, Lord, we pray that they would come to understand the saving grace of Jesus Christ. There is no other name by which we can be saved, and we plead the blood of Jesus over this family. In Acts 4:12, it is written, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" We pray that they would confess their sins, turn to You, and receive the gift of eternal life. Let them experience the love and forgiveness that only You can offer.

We also pray for the authorities and individuals involved in this transition. Give them wisdom, compassion, and discernment as they make decisions that will impact this child’s life. Let them act in ways that honor You and reflect Your heart for justice and mercy.

Lord, we know that You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us (Ephesians 3:20). We trust in Your perfect plan for this family, even when we cannot see the outcome. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and let them hold fast to Your promises. We declare that this is not the end of their story, You are writing a testimony of redemption, healing, and restoration.

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
