YOUR STILL LORD
For as long as I can remember I have always heard about and been a believer in Jesus. One of my earliest memories as a child was asking mom and dad how to be saved? I wanted to know for sure that I would go to heaven to be with Jesus my Lord when I died. We were taught the Bible daily and my parents made sure we went to church every Sunday, mid week service and sometimes we would even go to cottage prayer meetings in some of their friends homes. Looking back, these things were truly a blessing to me. I didn't always appreciate these blessings at the time being a child, but my parents were giving me a solid foundation to stand on and live by for life, and for that I will always be grateful.
My parents truly believed Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. This scripture has held true in my life and my brothers and sisters lives as well.
I can just see my dad sitting in his chair, praying and reading his favorite scriptures. When dad read those scriptures to us, it seemed as if Jesus was speaking straight to us from those pages. We were always taught that this was the main way God spoke to His children. I'll share a few of my dads favorite scriptures with you, and I pray they will bring you comfort, peace, assurance and encouragement as they did to me.
John 14:1-3 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
John 3:16-17 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
Romans 10:9-10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Romans 5:1-2 Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
John14;26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
Isaiah 49:15-16 Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
