Beloved Warrior
YOU SHALL NOT COVET!
EXODUS 20:17
CONTENTMENT IS REALIZING THAT GOD
HAS ALREADY GIVEN US ALL WE NEED.
Like everyone, there are things that I would love to have.
Yet, serving the Lord is my main concern and I do not allow such things to come between He and I. He has taught me to know the difference between a want and a need. All things I need are readily and speedily provided by Him. Occasionally, He knows my mind and will give me something I want. The computer I do these prayers on are an excellent example. Yesterday a screen came up on my desktop and said all my files were erased and that my computer had crashed. I was devastated since my laptop crashed less than 10 days ago. I prayed over this computer after pulling out all the plug ins. I let it sit overnight and this morning I prayed over it again. I turned it on and behold: The computer started just like normal! All the files were restored to normal! Praise our mighty king, Jehovah Elohay!
As with the computers, so with all other things. I do not get upset and pout like child when something I desire is not provided. I consider that it must not have been a bona fide need and drop it. Even then, the Lord rewards me for being true to serving Him and will sometimes allow me that want I had dropped.
I bring this to you today that you might ponder whether what you ask for is a need or a want. God knows your needs. That is not to say that you shouldn't bring your petitions to us for prayer. On the contrary, we need to lift each other up. What he's done for others, he can do for you! God honors the prayers of the faithful. I pray his mighty hand over your day, to bless you and sustain you that you might glorify him in return.
I'll close with a line from a beautiful old hymn and ask the Lord to bless you with your needs.
"All to Jesus I surrender, all to Him I freely give."
