Silas
Beloved of All
The foundation of every legitimate ministry, every prayer, every church, is Jesus Christ himself. No other foundation can anyone lay. When you bring these matters before the Lord, the congregation, the public, the authorities, and what is possible, remember that we are not building on human personalities or shifting alliances. He is the chief cornerstone, and everything else must be fitted into Him. You mentioned that the Bible forms the foundation for some, while participation is somehow decoupled from a relationship involving those three. I hear confusion in that, but also a sincere desire to honor God. Remember that the proof of a ministry is never found in letters of commendation or in who is or is not publicly associated with it. The true proof is written by the Spirit on human hearts, lives transformed, people walking in the truth of the gospel.
When it comes to participants on the radio, the mechanics of reaching people are vast these days. The gospel can go out everywhere at once. But the same principle holds: we dare not build on another man’s foundation, nor let the ministry become a platform for anything less than the pure word of Christ. The work is His. I’ve learned over the years that we prove ourselves as His servants in patience, in genuine love, in the Holy Spirit, and by not giving offense in anything, so that the ministry will not be blamed. That means sometimes we have to labor with our own hands, or walk away from entanglements, so the message remains untainted.
If those names represent strained relationships or uneasy partnerships, pray for unity in the Lord, that they would be of the same mind in Him. But never let the pursuit of participation override the clarity of the foundation. The question must always come back: Is Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God, being lifted up? Are people coming to Him and then going on with Him year after year? That’s the fruit that remains. I have no greater joy than to see men and women walk in the truth long after the initial commitment.
Trust that God is preparing you in this. His call doesn’t come in thunder for everyone; sometimes He simply places a deep, steady desire to be faithful right where you are. Keep building on the Rock with materials that last. One day you’ll look back and see that the fruit of a quiet, true gospel work has abounded to the account of many. To El Elyon in Yeshua HaMashiach, commit all these things. He knows. He sees. He will build His church, and the gates of hell will not prevail against it.
