We join with you in bringing your desires for your businesses, your livelihood, and your future before the Lord, and we thank you for acknowledging the blood of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5 and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved, Acts 4:12. We rejoice that you have lifted His name in your request.

We hear your longing for success, for peace, for your salon work in microblading and eyelash extensions and your restaurant businesses to be blessed, for your name to be honored, and for your licensing needs to be met without further burden, and we want to pray with you for God's provision and favor. At the same time we want to gently and lovingly bring some biblical perspective to the way this desire has been expressed, because we care for you and want you to walk in truth and lasting peace.

Scripture teaches that it is God who speaks life into existence, not us. He alone said let there be light and there was light, and His word never returns void. Our words do have power to encourage or discourage, but we do not create reality by declaring it 100 fold or by speaking urgently. Instead we are called to humbly submit our plans to Him. You ought to say, If the Lord wills, we will live, and do this or that, James 4:15. When we make our business plans we commit them to Him and trust His sovereign will, for commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this, Psalm 37:5 and commit your deeds to Yahweh, and your plans shall succeed, Proverbs 16:3. God blesses diligence, honesty, and faithful stewardship, not simply urgent declarations.

We also want to address your desire regarding your esthetician license and the state board. We understand the frustration of schooling, hours, diplomas, and waiting for a license number, and the longing to simply print your diplomas and display them and move forward. Yet God calls us to honor the authorities He has placed over us and to walk in complete integrity in our work. Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God, Romans 13:1 and submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, 1 Peter 2:13. If the state board requires additional hours or specific licensing for eyelash extensions and microblading, even when you have already completed cosmetology school and hold diplomas, we are called to fulfill those requirements honestly rather than seeking a way around them. A false balance is an abomination to Yahweh, but accurate weights are his delight, Proverbs 11:1. The Lord greatly honors a business built on truthfulness, where reviews are genuine, credentials are properly earned, and clients are served with excellence as unto Him. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, Colossians 3:23. He who is faithful in a very little is faithful also in much, Luke 16:10.

We also encourage you to seek success in a way that honors God and others. Wanting things free or cheap and without worries is understandable, but we are called to deal justly with those who help us, to pay what is due, and to not take advantage of family and friends who want to help. And we are called to seek first God's Kingdom, and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well, Matthew 6:33. When we put Him first, He promises to supply our needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:19, but His greatest blessing is not merely financial increase but peace, character, and a testimony that draws others to Christ.

So we pray together with you now.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the precious name of Jesus Christ and through His shed blood, thanking You for this life You have given and for the gifts and skills You have placed within Your child. We ask that You grant wisdom and favor over the salon and restaurant work, that every service would be done with skill, cleanliness, honesty, and love for the customer, and that You would establish the work of her hands. We pray for honest and great reviews that reflect true excellence, and for provision for every need. We pray especially for the licensing situation, Lord, that You would give clarity, patience, and integrity. If more schooling or steps are required by the state, give her grace to complete them diligently and to trust Your timing rather than seeking a shortcut. Open the right doors, grant favor with the state board, and let every diploma and license be obtained in a way that is lawful and beyond reproach, so her name may be blessed because her conduct honors You. We pray against anxiety and urgency that robs peace, and we ask You to replace it with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus, Philippians 4:6-7. Help her to rest in You, to work diligently with idle hands bringing poverty but diligent hands bringing wealth, Proverbs 10:4, and to know that true success is walking in Your will. We commit these businesses, this license, and this family to You, asking that all would be for Your glory. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

There has been laid before us your earnest desire for prosperity in your businesses, for your salon work and for your license, and for the blessing of your household. We hear in your words both hope and a great burden of anxiety, and we would point you to a better and surer way.

You have nothing to do with forcing the outcome, dear friend, that is God's business and yours to do the right thing and then to leave the result with Him. The very anxiety which arises through your being in a difficulty unfits you to meet that difficulty. We have found it so, and you have found it so. If you make your own business God's business, you will do your business well, and you will be useful in your day and generation. There is a laudable pursuit of gain, without which business would not be properly carried on, but there is a line, scarcely as broad as a razor's edge, between diligence in business and greediness for gain. True diligence is to have eyes wide open, brain active, hands busy, standing faithfully behind the counter and neglecting nothing, while greed would grasp at shortcuts.

No lawful calling is without its saint, and no trade should be followed by a Christian except in honesty before God and man. If the state requires further schooling or lawful process for the license you seek, then your first duty is to walk in truth, to fulfill what is required with integrity, and to trust the Lord with the cost and the time. To print a license or to hang diplomas that do not rightly belong to you would not be doing the right thing, and we cannot ask God to bless any course that is not honest. Rather, serve the Lord with all your heart and soul in the place where He has put you, do your work faithfully, and be no longer anxious about it.

Your first business, above all other business, is to believe in Jesus. The blood of Jesus was not shed to be a charm for getting our own way in earthly matters, but to make atonement for sin and to bring sinners near to God. It was His Father's business that made Him sweat great drops of blood, that ploughed His back and pierced His brow, that He might bear our sin and rise to sit at the right hand of God. Other witnesses of Divine grace in your heart shall come by and by and adorn the doctrine you profess, but now your first business is to believe in Him, to be washed in that blood, and to be reconciled to God through Him alone, for there is salvation in no other.

We will pray for you, that the Lord will give you a calm mind and a faithful hand, that He will provide for your needs according to His wisdom, that He will teach you to be diligent in your lawful calling and to seek first His kingdom, that He will grant you contentment while you wait upon His providence, and that He will establish you in Christ, so that whether He gives prosperity or calls you to patience, you may be found about your Father's business.
