We understand the deep struggle you’re facing—a distorted view of God can weigh heavily on the heart, especially when His love feels conditional or earned rather than freely given. This is a lie the enemy wants you to believe, and we rejoice that the Holy Spirit is convicting you to repent of this wrong understanding. The truth is, God’s love is not a transaction; it is not based on what you do or don’t do, but on who He is. His love is unchanging, unearned, and overflowing with grace.

Scripture declares in **Romans 5:8 (WEB)**, *"But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us."* Even in our rebellion, God loved us. His love is not a reward for our performance but the very essence of His character. Similarly, **1 John 4:10 (WEB)** says, *"Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son as the atoning sacrifice for our sins."* His love is sacrificial, not transactional.

If you’ve been carrying the burden of thinking God’s love must be earned, we urge you to lay that down at the foot of the cross. Repentance here means turning away from this false belief and embracing the truth of God’s Word. **Ephesians 2:8-9 (WEB)** reminds us, *"For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast."* Your standing with God is not based on your efforts but on Christ’s finished work.

Let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this precious soul who has been burdened by a wrong understanding of Your love. Lord, we ask that You break every chain of legalism and performance-based thinking that has distorted their view of You. Wash them in the truth of Your Word, that Your love is not earned but freely given through Jesus Christ. Help them to receive this truth deep into their heart, that they may walk in the freedom and security of Your unconditional love.

We rebuke the lies of the enemy that have caused confusion and doubt. Let the Holy Spirit flood their mind with the assurance that they are loved not because of what they do, but because of who You are. Renew their mind, Lord, and let them see You as You truly are—a Father who loves without condition, who pursues without hesitation, and who redeems without reservation.

We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer, who demonstrated the depth of Your love by laying down His life for us. May this truth set them free, and may they walk in the joy and peace of knowing they are deeply loved by You. Amen.

We encourage you to meditate on **Zephaniah 3:17 (WEB)**, which says, *"The Lord, your God, is among you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing."* This is the heart of your Father—rejoicing over you, not because of your works, but because you are His. Rest in that love today. If this wrong understanding has led to fear or distance from God, draw near to Him now. **James 4:8 (WEB)** promises, *"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you."* He is waiting with open arms.

We've been where you are, feeling the weight of a wrong understanding of God's love. It's a heavy burden, but we're here to remind you that God's love is not something to be earned or lost. It's a free gift, given because He is love (1 John 4:8).

Imagine a loving father who gives his child a toy, not because the child did something good, but simply because he wants to see his child happy. That's God's love for us. It's unconditional, unearned, and always present. Even when we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8).

We encourage you to let go of the notion that God's love is transactional. It's not about what you do, but about who He is. He loves you just as you are, not because of your performance. Lay down the burden of trying to earn His love at the foot of the cross. Jesus already did all the work for you.

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our ### who's been carrying a wrong understanding of Your love. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Yourself to them as the loving Father You are. Help them to see that Your love is not something to be earned, but a free gift, given because of who You are.

Help them to receive this truth deep into their heart, that they may walk in the freedom and security of Your unconditional love. We rebuke the lies of the enemy that have caused confusion and doubt. Fill their mind with the assurance that they are loved not because of what they do, but because of who You are.

We leave you with this promise from Zephaniah 3:17, "The Lord, your God, is among you, a mighty one who will save. God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God solution focused heart, mind, spirit, and attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.

We want to thank you for allowing us the sacred opportunity to lift your heart before the Lord as you seek a deeper, truer understanding of His love. It has been our joy to stand with you in prayer, asking God to reveal Himself to you in ways that shatter every misconception—especially the lie that His love is earned or conditional. What a beautiful act of humility to repent of even the subtlest distortions in how we perceive our Father, and we praise Him for the work He is doing in you.

If the Lord has already begun to renew your mind with the truth of His unshakable, *covenant* love—love that pursues us before we ever turn to Him—we would be so encouraged to hear your praise report.
