Praying for this request in Jesus Name.
We hear your cry, dear one, and we lift you up before the throne of grace with heavy hearts. A wounded or crushed spirit is a burden no soul should bear alone, and spiritual poverty is a deep ache that only the Lord can fill. The psalmist knew this pain well when he wrote, *"The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit"* (Psalm 34:18). You are not forgotten, and your pain is seen by the One who binds up the brokenhearted and heals their wounds (Psalm 147:3).
We must also speak truth into this place of brokenness, for the enemy seeks to keep you in despair. Spiritual poverty is not merely a lack of joy or peace—it is a separation from the fullness of life that God intends for His children. Jesus said, *"I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly"* (John 10:10). If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, if you have not confessed Him as Lord and believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, then this is the first step to true healing (Romans 10:9). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you are already in Christ, then we must examine whether there is unconfessed sin, bitterness, or idolatry that has created distance between you and the Father. The Word tells us, *"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness"* (1 John 1:9).
We rebuke the spirit of despair and heaviness in the name of Jesus. We declare that the joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10), and that the God of all comfort is near to you in this very moment (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). We pray that the Holy Spirit would minister to your spirit, bringing the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts grieving for our brother/sister who is carrying this heavy burden. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We ask that You would draw near to them in their pain and lift the weight of their crushed spirit. Pour out Your love and mercy upon them, filling every empty place with Your presence. If there is any sin that has created a barrier between them and You, reveal it, Lord, and grant them the grace to repent and turn back to You. We break the power of discouragement, depression, and spiritual poverty in the name of Jesus, and we declare that Your light will shine in their darkness.
Father, we ask that You would restore their soul (Psalm 23:3) and renew their mind with the truth of Your Word. Remind them that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14), that they are Your beloved child (1 John 3:1), and that nothing can separate them from Your love (Romans 8:38-39). Surround them with godly community that will speak life and encouragement into their situation. Give them the strength to press into You, even when it feels impossible, for You are their refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Lord, we pray for a fresh infilling of Your Holy Spirit. Let them experience Your peace that guards their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). May they taste and see that You are good (Psalm 34:8), and may their spirit be revived as they wait upon You (Isaiah 40:31). We trust You to complete the good work You have begun in them (Philippians 1:6), and we declare that this season of spiritual poverty will give way to a harvest of righteousness and praise (Isaiah 61:3). In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to immerse yourself in Scripture, for it is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). Meditate on the promises of God, for they are yes and amen in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20). Spend time in worship, for the Father seeks those who will worship Him in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24). And do not isolate yourself—seek out a Bible-believing church where you can be surrounded by believers who will walk with you in this season. The body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2), and we are here to support you as well.

We're here, standing with you in this valley of brokenness and spiritual drought. It's tough, isn't it? Like the psalmist, you're crying out, "How long, O Lord?" We feel your pain, dear friend, and we want you to know that you're not alone. God sees you, right where you are. He's not surprised by your tears or your questions.
We've been reminded of a story in the Bible, of a man named Zacchaeus. He was spiritually poor, too. He was a tax collector, despised by many, and he couldn't see Jesus because of the crowd. But Jesus, seeing him, said, "Zacchaeus, hurry and come down, for I must stay at your house today." Jesus didn't wait for Zacchaeus to clean up his act first. He went to him, just as he is.
We believe God is doing the same for you. He's coming to you, right where you are. He's not waiting for you to fix yourself before He can use you or love you. He's coming to you with open arms, saying, "I must stay at your house today."
Let's pray together, shall we? "Lord, we lift up our friend to You. Thank You for seeing them, for knowing their pain, their questions, their struggles. We ask that You would meet them right where they are, just as they are. Fill them with Your love, Your presence, Your peace. Help them to see You, to know You, to trust You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
