I'm still in rehab and I'm struggling with unanswered prayer and not being able to feel the holy spirit, I'm stuck not being able to train whilst not knowing my future , I'm trying to be optimistic about where I am now and the years ive missed out on. I'm hoping and praying for jesus to set me free so I can live free, and beyond the binds of the fallen world, the bible tells us we are bought with a price, so I ask for jesus to be my conquerer and to train me as I am, for all of this is on earth as it is in heaven. I'm asking for prayer to be at jesus discretion. ###

We hear your heart in this season and we stand with you in prayer as you walk through rehab and carry these heavy feelings of being worthless and outrun and uncertain about the future. We want to gently rebuke the lie that you are worthless, because that is not how God sees you. You are fearfully and wonderfully made as Psalm 139:14 tells us, and you were bought with a price as you said, for you are not your own, you were bought with a price therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit which are God's 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Your life has immense value to Him and He has not forgotten you in this place.

We understand the struggle of unanswered prayer and not being able to feel the Holy Spirit. Feelings are real but they are not the measure of His presence. We walk by faith and not by sight 2 Corinthians 5:7 and we know that His Spirit seals those who belong to Jesus and He has promised to never leave nor forsake us. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18. Even when you cannot feel Him, He is near, He hears, and He is working. His thoughts and ways are higher than ours Isaiah 55:8-9 and His timing is not our timing. We can have confidence that if we ask anything according to His will He listens to us 1 John 5:14, and that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose Romans 8:28.

We also hear your grief over not being able to train and not knowing what the future holds and the years that feel missed. God sees that loss and He is able to restore the years that the locust has eaten Joel 2:25. He knows the plans He has for you, plans for peace and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope Jeremiah 29:11. This time in rehab is not wasted in His eyes. He is training you even now, not only in body but in spirit, teaching endurance and dependence on Him. Bodily exercise has some value but godliness has value in all things 1 Timothy 4:8 and He is forming Christ in you through this trial. Do not despise this season of waiting and healing, for the Lord will give strength to you and uphold you with His righteous right hand Isaiah 41:10 and He invites you to come to Him when you are weary and burdened and He will give you rest Matthew 11:28.

You prayed for Jesus to be your conqueror and to set you free and to train you as you are, and that is a beautiful prayer according to His will. In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us Romans 8:37 and if the Son therefore sets you free you will be free indeed John 8:36. It is for freedom that Christ set us free Galatians 5:1, not to remain bound by the fallen world but to live as His own. We agree with your prayer that His will be done on earth as it is in heaven Matthew 6:10 and that you would be at Jesus discretion in all things.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we lift our brother to You in the name of Jesus Christ. We thank You that he is Yours, bought with the precious blood of Jesus, and we ask You to break every lie of worthlessness and speak Your truth over him. Fill him afresh with Your Holy Spirit even when he cannot feel You, and give him assurance that he is sealed and loved. We ask You to bring complete healing and freedom, to set him free from every bond of the past and the fallen world, and to be his conqueror and trainer day by day. Give him patience and hope in rehab, restore his strength in Your perfect timing, and guide his steps into the future You have prepared for him. Grant him Your peace that surpasses all understanding as he brings his requests to You Philippians 4:6-7, and help him to trust You with his whole heart. We ask all this at Your discretion and for Your glory, in Jesus name, Amen.

We read your message and hear how heavy this season feels in rehab, carrying that sense of being worthless and outrun, praying but not sensing an answer and not feeling the Holy Spirit near. Being unable to train and not knowing what the future holds would leave anyone feeling stuck, and grieving years that feel lost while trying to stay optimistic is a lot to hold at once. Thank you for letting us pray with you honestly, at Jesus' discretion as you put it.

One thing that came to mind for where you are is the difference between training and trying. Trying is pushing hard for a quick result, but training is slower, like preparing for a long run over months and years. Even small, faithful steps count. Showing up in rehab, being honest in the hard days, offering a simple prayer when you feel nothing, these are part of being formed right where you are. It doesn't make the uncertainty about the future go away, but it can help to see yourself as a work in progress rather than someone who has already failed.

If it would help, consider letting one trusted person where you are, a counselor, mentor or chaplain, know specifically about feeling distant from God and stuck about the future. You don't have to sort all of this alone, and having one person to walk with you week by week can keep discouragement from settling deeper.

Father, we bring our brother before You. You see his weariness, his longing to be set free and to live beyond what binds him now. Draw near to him even when You feel far, remind him he is Yours and held by You, and train him gently day by day as he is. Give him peace for today and wisdom for the next step. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your cry has been heard, and there is much in it that the Lord loves to hear, for it is an honest dealing with God as you actually are. You tell Him you feel worthless and outrun, that prayer seems unanswered and the Holy Spirit unfelt, that your body cannot train and your future is hidden. To come to Him thus, without pretense, is to walk in the light where the blood of Jesus Christ cleanses from all sin. You are shut up to come as a sinner, and that is the very place where free grace in Christ Jesus meets you. You are not worthless, for you are bought with a price, and that price was the precious blood of the Son of God. What He bought He will not despise.

Concerning unanswered prayer, take comfort and take searching of heart together. Brethren must not take delays in prayer for denials, for God's long dated bills will be punctually honored. If you have sought a blessing for many months and have not obtained it, do not cease from trust nor from prayer, but grow more earnest in both. Let faith give up all dependence anywhere but upon God, and let the cry grow more vehement. And while you wait, hear what the Lord says, Search and look. Is there some secret sin which keeps back the blessing. You may sin against God in the prayer chamber as well as in the market, and offend on your knees as well as in your business. Ask the Lord to open His Word to you and to put your soul in the best state to receive His meaning. At the same time know this, He is strengthening your muscles and tendons, sinews and power by the arduous exercise of unanswered prayer, that you may be finely useful in the future. Even now, when you cannot train with the body, the Lord is training you as you are. Before He does any great work for us or by us, He makes us mighty upon our knees. Our Lord Himself continued all night in prayer before He chose His twelve and before He stilled the storm.

You say you cannot feel the Holy Spirit. Remember that feeling is not the measure of His presence. Calling upon God in the day of trouble is itself a truthful recognition that He is a fact to you, and it brings honor to Him in the very act. He loves to have His people draw near in spirit and in truth. Do not run away to others, and do not sit down in silent despair, but call upon Him in calm faith. The first prayer you ever prayed, that God would have mercy upon you and blot out your sin, He heard. He gave joy and peace in believing then, and He hears still. What multitudes of prayers have gone up from His people, and this remains true, God has heard my voice in my prayer.

You ask for Jesus to be your conqueror and to set you free beyond the binds of the fallen world. Here is your hope. Christ was bound that His people might be free. He was made sin for us that we might be made the righteousness of God in Him. When He was bound as an ambassador in chains, it was that you might be free indeed. Your freedom is sure freedom and righteous freedom, for the great Emancipator has wrought it. To be in Christ is to receive a whole Christ, not a part. We must receive Him in the entirety of His person, God manifest in the flesh, and receive Him in all His commands and in His Spirit. Such discipline as would let us take what we like and leave what we dislike could be tolerated in no host, and will not be endured in the armies of the living God. Receive Him as your whole Savior, your Lord, and your life.

You are in rehab, and you grieve years missed and a future unknown. May you have hope that from the lowest places, from prisons and slums, God has raised up many to believe in Jesus. Rahab in Jericho believed that the Lord Jehovah must be God in heaven above and in earth beneath, and she cast herself upon His mercy. So cast yourself upon Christ alone, for there is one God gloriously manifested in Christ Jesus, and no man has seen God at any time but the only begotten Son has declared Him. In the face of Jesus Christ you see the glory of God, and to know Him there is to know God as He is.

We will pray for you, and as you asked, at Jesus discretion, for all of this is on earth as it is in heaven.

O Lord, hear this brother in the day of trouble. Deliver him according to Thy promise, that Thou mayest be glorified in his deliverance. Give him faith to take Thee at Thy word. Cleanse him in the blood of Christ, fill him with Thy Spirit whether he feels Him or not, and keep him trusting when answers tarry. Thou who didst bear bonds for him, make him to know he is free indeed. Train him now in the inward man while outward training is denied him, and prepare him for what Thou hast prepared for him. Make him to receive a whole Christ and to walk with Thee in the light. Do as Thou wilt, for Thy will is best. Set him free and keep him free in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honest words have been heard and we are joining you in prayer during this season in rehab. It is understandable to feel worthless, stuck, and unable to sense God's presence when you cannot train, when the future is uncertain, and when prayers seem unanswered and years feel lost.

Scripture teaches that hope is confidence in what is to come and what we do not yet see, and that God asks us to bring Him that hope and to wait with patience. That waiting is not easy, but God gives help to the weary soul who hopes in Him. Even when you do not feel the Holy Spirit, His presence has not left you. He is everywhere present and He pursues us even when we feel far away. The distance we feel is often in our own heart and weariness, not in His faithfulness.

You are right to hold to the truth that you are bought with a price through Jesus Christ. That is your sure foundation whether you feel it strongly today or not. Salvation and freedom come through Him alone, and He is able to be your conqueror and to form and train you right where you are now. God often works little by little, using seasons of limitation to draw us to seek Him more closely, to search His Word with care, and to pray with earnestness.

We are praying for you as you asked, at Jesus discretion, that He would set you free according to His perfect will and do His work on earth as it is in heaven. We ask that He would give you strength each day in rehab, lift the weight of feeling worthless, restore a hope rooted in Christ that looks beyond this fallen world, give you patience in unanswered prayer, and help you to know His nearness and to trust Him with your future and with the years ahead. May you continue to hold fast to the hope you have in Christ and find comfort and renewal in Him day by day.
