We join with you in this beautiful and comprehensive prayer and we say amen to your desire to worship the Father in spirit and truth and to walk in a way that bears much fruit for His glory.
We are encouraged by how you have centered everything on nearness to God and on coming boldly to His throne. We are reminded of the promise in James 4:8 that if we draw near to God, he will draw near to us, and in Hebrews 4:16 to let us therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need. We thank God with you that in Jesus Christ we have that access, for there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, 1 Timothy 2:5.
We pray together for what you have lifted up. We ask the Father that we may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, that we may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God, Colossians 1:9-11. We ask that our worship would be true as Jesus said in John 4:23, But the hour comes, and now is, when the true worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father seeks such to be his worshippers. And we ask that as we remain in Him, His words would remain in us so that we bear much fruit and so prove to be His disciples, as in John 15:7-8, If you remain in me, and my words remain in you, you will ask whatever you desire, and it will be done for you. In this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and so you will be my disciples.
We pray for the renewing of first love where it has grown cold, remembering Revelation 2:4, and for grace to tend the vineyards and gardens God has entrusted to us, as Yahweh God took the man, and put him in the garden of Eden to cultivate and keep it, Genesis 2:15. We ask for the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, Ephesians 1:17, that He would open our minds that we might understand the Scriptures, Luke 24:45, and give us diligence to present ourselves approved by God, properly handling the Word of Truth, 2 Timothy 2:15.
We also pray for clarity and order, for God is not a God of confusion, but of peace, 1 Corinthians 14:33, and that we would learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that we may not be unfruitful, Titus 3:14. We thank God that we are His fellow workers, 1 Corinthians 3:9, and we pray for sweet fellowship with the Father and the Son and with our teams, families, friends and those who are still lost, that our joy may be made full and our evangelism would be cheerful and our holiness happy, bearing the fruit of the Holy Spirit in home groups and in daily chores.
We pray for simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ, 2 Corinthians 11:3, and for the ministry of angels, for are not they all serving spirits, sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation, Hebrews 1:14, and for He will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways, Psalm 91:11. We pray for bold proclamation that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations, Luke 24:47, and for faith and assurance that believing we may have life in his name, John 20:31, and know that we have eternal life, 1 John 5:13.
We join you in asking for the restoration of the joy of salvation that leads to the conversion of sinners, as in Psalm 51:12-13, Restore to me the joy of your salvation. Uphold me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors your ways. Sinners shall be converted to you. And we pray for protection as you asked, Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one, Matthew 6:13, and as Jesus prayed, I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one, John 17:15, keeping us from stumbling blocks and from deception and from every evil work.
We thank God that you have prayed in the name of Jesus Christ our Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek, Psalm 110:4, for it is only through His name that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. We continue to lift these priorities, teams, and pressing needs before the throne with you, trusting that He who began a good work will be faithful to complete it and to make our lives fruitful for His glory.
