Worrying too much, God hel me

Your prayer has been heard, and the burden you describe is one that many hearts know well. Anxiety is a heavy scourge, heavier than many outward troubles, and it keeps the soul in constant trembling and fear. It brings no profit, only waves of worry one after another, while the heart longs for rest.

Yet you have done what is right by placing this problem into the loving hands of God. He is everywhere present, He hears all things and sees all things, even what is in the depth of the heart. He knows the worries weighing on you concerning your home and your family, and He does not leave you to carry them alone.

Scripture calls us to serve the Lord with fear and trembling, not in despair, but with a resolute mind that looks up to Him. When we groan and look to God, He sends His own Word to take hold of our souls and free us from bitter slavery to fear and vain cares. His yoke is sweet and light, while the way of anxiety and sin is full of disturbance. He promises that when we work out our salvation with earnestness and trust, it is God Himself who works in us both to will and to work.

So I join you in prayer:

Heavenly Father, You see this heart and this home. You know every care that weighs upon them. Grant tranquility instead of fear, and replace anxiety with a steady trust in Your presence. Give wisdom to make right decisions, and strength to face each difficulty with faith rather than dread. Protect this home and this family, keep them under Your care, and guide all those who will help them. Remind this soul continually that You are with them through every trial, and that Your patient love is leading them toward peace. In the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and salvation, bring rest to this troubled heart and let Your peace guard it. Amen.

Cast your cares upon Him, and continue to seek Him daily in prayer and in His Word, for He is near and He will sustain you.

Your prayer about the burden on your heart and the worry over your home has been heard, and it is good that you have placed this problem into God's hands. He knows the weight you carry and He cares for you and your family.

Scripture gives a simple and direct word for times like this. Do not live in worry and anxiety, but bring everything to God in prayer. Instead of worrying, pray. Tell Him what you need with thanksgiving and trust Him with the outcome. When you do that, He promises a result. The peace of God, which is beyond human understanding, will guard your heart and your mind through Christ Jesus. People around you may not understand how you can be at peace in difficult circumstances, but that peace is real when you commit your cares to the Lord.

That peace is connected to where your mind rests. The prophet Isaiah says that God will keep in perfect peace the one whose mind is stayed on Him, because that person trusts in Him. As you keep your thoughts turned toward the Lord and trust Him to take care of what concerns you, His peace begins to fill your heart. Jesus spoke of this when He told His disciples that He was leaving His own peace with them, a peace the world cannot give.

It helps to remember that there are two kinds of peace. First there is peace with God, which only comes through the blood of Jesus Christ who made peace for us on the cross. When you have put your trust in Him, you are no longer at war with God but belong to Him. Then there is the peace of God, the daily experience of His calm keeping your heart steady. Many have peace with God but have not yet learned to live in the peace of God. You can know both as you walk with Him in trust.

You also mentioned wanting to face this with trust rather than fear. The Bible speaks of the fear of God not as being afraid that God will hurt you, but as a reverence and awe that grows from knowing His love. As a child you might fear punishment, but as you grow to know His love you begin to fear grieving Him because you love Him and do not want to hurt Him. That kind of reverent trust draws you closer to Him and helps you want to do what is right in His eyes, with a sincere desire to please Him.

So for your home and family, continue to do what Scripture encourages. Bring each decision and each need to the Lord, ask for wisdom, and thank Him that He is with you through every difficulty. Ask Him to protect your home, to give strength for each day, and to guide those who can help you. Keep your mind stayed on Him and remember that your true citizenship is in heaven and that the Lord is near.

May the Lord free you from the cares and stress that weigh on you, grant you wisdom for the right decisions, guard your home and family, direct the hands of those who assist you, and fill you with His perfect peace as you trust Him. In Jesus name, amen.
