Worried evil is still at my door step

We hear your cry and stand with you in this spiritual battle. The enemy prowls like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour (1 Peter 5:8), but we declare that greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4). The fear you feel is real, but we take authority over it in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name (Philippians 2:9-10).

The Lord has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We rebuke every spirit of fear, oppression, and torment that seeks to linger at your doorstep. The blood of Jesus has already broken every chain, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We stand on the promise that the Lord will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5), and we declare that His angels are encamped around you, guarding you in all your ways (Psalm 91:11).

We pray that you would fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). We encourage you to put on the full armor of God daily, truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God, so that you may stand firm against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up our brother/sister who is feeling the weight of evil at their doorstep. Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your presence, filling them with Your peace and assurance. We rebuke every spirit of fear, oppression, and darkness in Jesus' name. We declare that no evil shall befall them, nor shall any plague come near their dwelling (Psalm 91:10). Strengthen their faith, Lord, and help them to trust in You with all their heart, leaning not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5-6). May they find refuge in You, their fortress and deliverer (Psalm 18:2). We pray for a fresh outpouring of Your Holy Spirit upon them, that they may walk in victory and boldness, knowing that You are with them always. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

Continue to stand firm in your faith, knowing that the battle belongs to the Lord (1 Samuel 17:47). Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7). Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you (James 4:8). Fill your mind with the truth of God’s Word, and let it be a lamp to your feet and a light to your path (Psalm 119:105). You are not alone, and the Lord is fighting for you. Keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He will bring you through this season stronger and more steadfast in your faith.

We hear you. It’s deeply unsettling when fear lingers, and you’ve already chosen the best possible response: “I will trust in the Lord.” That’s not a feeling of confidence, it’s a quiet, deliberate decision of the will, and it pleases God.

When we trust, we make ourselves vulnerable. We admit we can’t control what’s at the door, and we lean on Someone else’s strength. That’s exactly where God meets us. The enemy would love for you to replay the worry on a loop, but you’re breaking that cycle each time you turn your attention back to Jesus. A simple next step that many have found helpful: when that familiar dread rises, you might say out loud, “Lord, I trust You with this. You are my safety right now.” Speaking it can steady your mind and anchor your heart when emotions feel shaky.

We’re not minimizing how real spiritual struggle feels. Some seasons just feel heavier, and it’s okay to acknowledge that. What matters is that you’re not trying to fight in your own strength. You’re planting your feet on the solid ground of God’s faithfulness, even when your feelings haven’t caught up yet.

Lord Jesus, thank You that You are far greater than anything that would harm us. Quiet this worry and fill the spaces where fear tries to take hold with Your peace. When those thoughts knock again, let trust rise even faster, firm and unwavering, because You are with us always. In Your mighty name, Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is well that you have resolved to trust in the Lord, for that is the very marrow of wisdom and the shield against every fiery dart of the evil one. The enemy may prowl at your threshold, but he is ever on the threshold of One who has already conquered him. When you feel the nearness of evil, remember that it is not a sign of your abandonment but often a proof that you possess something worth plundering. The lion does not roar at the empty sheepfold but at the pen where the Shepherd’s lambs are gathered. Stand your ground in the name of God and in the strength of God; it may be that Satan is raging just as you are on the brink of a great deliverance.

You say evil is at your door, but what is the door of a child of God but a thing bathed in the blood of the everlasting covenant? The Destroyer cannot cross that crimson-stained lintel. The Lord has delivered you from the power of darkness, and He will not now leave you to be a prey to the ravaging wolf. True, the old heart is a den of evil, and thoughts of sin may roll under the tongue like a sweet morsel, but you have a new heart given you, a heart that overcomes the old corruption. That new life within you is unconquerable love, planted by the Spirit, and it will not brook the presence of the intruder forever. Cry out to the Deliverer, and He shall scatter the shadows with the light of His countenance.

Overcome evil with good. When the whisper of the tempter stirs, answer it with a direct flight to the mercy seat. When foul imaginations arise, replant the mind with a sweet promise of Scripture. The evil one cannot abide the atmosphere of holy meditation and fervent prayer; it is to him as the sun to the bat, he flees to the caves of darkness. Moreover, trace this present burden back to God’s hand. Not that God authors sin, but He permits the trial, and if He permits it, it is as truly an instrument of your sanctification as the sweetest comfort. Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil? The Lord scourges His children, but He does not slay them. Even now, He is saying, “Deliver him from going down to the pit.” That deliverance is not partial; it is an eternal rescue, and no infernal lion shall rend a sheep that the Great Shepherd deigns to keep.

Put out that empty hand of yours, black though it feels, and receive again the Pearl of Great Price. The blood of Jesus Christ cleanseth from all sin, not yesterday’s sin only, but this day’s defilement. Trust in the Lord in all your ways; be not idle, yet leave anxiety behind. Be diligent in your calling, prudent in your steps, but cast the whole weight of the matter upon Him. If you are stricken with fresh fears, it shall be well; if the enemy assaults, it shall be well. The clock of mercy will strike the hour of your deliverance, and you shall yet sing, “My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.” Then let your dedicated heart reply with a deeper surrender, for the saints, when rescued, make a further consecration of themselves. Go forward with no weapon but trust, and you shall find that by unconquerable love you are both saved and made more than a conqueror through Him that loved you.

Consider well the words you sing: "I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me." You sing this, yet your heart is drunk from grief, giving no heed. What do these Psalms mean? If the Lord is your refuge, as you yourself confess, then let your soul return to its rest, for He has dealt bountifully with you. The fear is not in the evil that lurks, but in failing to be like Him to the utmost of your power.

This worry you feel at evil still being at your doorstep arises because you have not yet armed yourself with the weapons by which that enemy was defeated. And what are these? Gentleness and meekness. For on the mountain Christ overthrew the devil not by revealing His power, but by the words of meekness. If you see evil become like a man and come against you, overcome it in the same way. Become such a one as Christ in this respect, so far as a man can, and the devil will not be able so much as to look you in the face. He recognizes the image of the King.

Do not make scrupulous inquiry as one in dread. For the earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof, not the devils'. If you partake of the gifts of God by grace, His grace is so great as to render your soul unstained and above all pollution. Give thanks, and you are set on high, injured from no quarter. The fear that makes you feel pain and evil surmising is a token of some consciousness of evil. But the one who trusts wholly in the Lord exhibits an unquestionable sign of a clean conscience.

The evil tree bears evil fruit only, and never good. Therefore, put away all pride, which is the beginning of sin, the root that corrupts all good things. Pride breeds the love of power, contempt for others, and a readiness for revenge. But you are called to something else. The fear of the Lord must be learned as an art, and its first lesson is this: keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil and do good. Seek peace and pursue it. Return to your rest, and the terror at your doorstep will be known for what it truly is: a shadow that flees before the weapons of Christ.

You are standing at a point many believers know well, that place where the shadow of evil feels close enough to touch, yet a quiet resolve rises in your spirit to trust. That very mixture of trial and trust is not a sign of weak faith; it is the furnace where genuine, durable faith is forged. The enemy wants you to believe the threat is permanent, that worry is the only reasonable response. But the cure for worry is not a change in circumstances. The cure for worry is trust, and you have already spoken the decisive words.

Do not fret because of what seems to be prowling at your doorstep. The Lord knows your situation completely. He knows your limitations, He loves you, and He will take care of you. Better to anchor your confidence in Him than in your own ability to detect or dismantle every threat. When you put your trust in the Lord, you gain a stability that human strategies can never provide. Those who trust in the arm of flesh will find themselves like a withered shrub in a salt land, but the one whose hope is the Lord is like a mountain that cannot be moved. You are not called to figure out every dark pathway, but to fear the Lord and depart from evil. The fear of the Lord, which is the beginning of true knowledge, is a hatred of that very evil you feel pressing in. As you hate it and turn from it, you align yourself with God’s own heart.

So the task for your soul now is to move beyond the mixture and into the triumph of trust. Delight yourself in the Lord. Find your joy in who He is, not in the absence of trouble. Commit your way to Him. In all your acknowledged paths, He will direct you. Rest in the Lord. Cease from the inner churning that leads only to wrath and fear. The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who trust in Him will be desolate. The remembrance of the wicked will be cut off, but light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart. The evil may seem near, but the God who reigns is nearer still. His truth is your shield, and under His wings you will find refuge until the threat passes and you see the deliverance He has prepared.
