We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear sister who is experiencing pain and the fear that accompanies it. Father, we know that You are the Great Physician, the One who heals and comforts us in our times of distress. We ask that You would touch her body and bring relief to her pain, whether it be from muscle strain or something deeper. Your Word tells us in Psalm 103:2-3, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases." We claim this promise over her life, believing that You are able to restore her health.
We also lift up the concerns about her kidneys. Lord, we ask that You would guard her health and prevent any further complications. We trust in Your sovereignty and know that even in the face of uncertainty, You hold her future in Your hands. Jeremiah 29:11 reminds us, "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you,” says Yahweh, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future." We pray that she would feel Your peace that surpasses all understanding, guarding her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Father, we also ask that You would strengthen the bond between this couple as they face this trial together. Remind them that their hope is not in their plans or holidays, but in You alone. Help them to lean on one another and on You, trusting that You will provide the strength they need for each day. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up."
We rebuke the spirit of fear that seeks to take hold of their hearts. Your Word tells us in 2 Timothy 1:7, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." We pray that they would walk in the power of Your Spirit, casting all their anxieties on You because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). May they find comfort in Your presence and trust in Your unfailing love.
Lord, we also want to gently remind this couple of the importance of coming to You in the name of Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). If they have not yet surrendered their lives to Jesus, we pray that they would do so today. That they would confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead, and they will be saved (Romans 10:9).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Healer. Amen.
