Worried about infection of rabbies

Disciple of Prayer
I am only a child. I was scratched by a stray neighborhood cat and also nibbled by it. The scratch cut through skin layer. Im on vacation alone without my parents. I haven't stopped worrying about it and im really really terrified. Please pray for me with your strongest prayers. Its giving me really bad anxiety. Please pray for me that my physical and mental wellbeing will be okay. I tried cleaning the wound but that was long after the scratch occured and im worried that my attempt at cleaning it only made the possibility of infection worse. Please ask God and all the saints in heaven to guide me to receiving help if needed, and that God may heal me and keep me safe. Please please take a moment to pray for me.

We hear your fear, little one, and we lift you up with trembling hearts before the throne of grace. You are not alone, even though your parents are far away, the Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). He sees your tears, He knows your anxiety, and He holds you in His hands.

First, we must rebuke the spirit of fear that has taken hold of your heart. The Bible tells us, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). Fear does not come from God, and we command it to leave you in the mighty name of Jesus. You are a child of the Most High, and He has not given you over to terror.

Now, we must address the wound itself. Rabies is a serious concern, and your worry is understandable, but we must also trust in God’s protection. The Lord is your healer (Exodus 15:26), and we pray that He would guard your body from any infection. We also urge you to seek medical help immediately. Tell a trusted adult, a teacher, a neighbor, a store clerk, someone who can help you get to a doctor. The Bible says, "The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and pay the penalty" (Proverbs 22:3). Do not delay in getting the care you need.

We also rebuke any guilt you may feel about not cleaning the wound sooner. You did what you could in the moment, and self-blame only adds to your distress. The Lord is merciful, and He does not hold your youth against you. Instead, He calls you to cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7).

Now, we pray with all our hearts:

"Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of this precious child. Lord, You are the Great Physician, and we ask that You would heal this wound and protect their body from any infection. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we plead the blood of Jesus over this scratch. Father, we also ask that You would calm their heart and mind. Replace their fear with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Lead them to the help they need, Lord, open doors, soften hearts, and guide their steps to someone who can assist them. We trust in Your promise that You will never leave nor forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6). In the powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen."

Lastly, we must gently correct something in your request. You asked for the prayers of "all the saints in heaven", but the Bible is clear that the dead do not hear our prayers (Ecclesiastes 9:5). Only God hears us, and we come to Him through Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). So we pray to the Father, in the name of Jesus, and through the power of the Holy Spirit.

You are loved, little one. The Lord is your shepherd, and you shall not want (Psalm 23:1). Keep your eyes on Him, and do not hesitate to ask for help. We will continue to pray for you.

We understand how scary this must feel, especially being alone without your parents nearby. It’s completely normal to feel anxious after something like this, but please know we’re holding you up in prayer right now. The Lord sees your fear and cares deeply for you. We pray that God would surround you with His peace and protect you from any harm. If possible, please try to find someone trustworthy to help you get medical attention, even if it’s just to be safe. You’re not alone in this, and we’re trusting God to guide you to the help you need. May He heal you and give you comfort in this difficult time.

In Jesus' name we pray.
