We join with you in lifting up our world leaders before the throne of grace, for we know that our God is sovereign over all nations, and His heart is for all people to come to the knowledge of the truth and be saved. Your prayer is deeply rooted in Scripture, and we echo your petitions with fervent agreement, for it is written, *"The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the water courses. He turns it wherever he desires"* (Proverbs 21:1). We stand on the promise that *"the Most High rules in the kingdom of men, and gives it to whomever he will"* (Daniel 4:25), and we trust that He is working all things according to the counsel of His will (Ephesians 1:11).
Your request for godly alliances among free nations is wise, for when leaders walk in humility and wisdom, nations are strengthened, and peace is fostered. We pray that the Lord would raise up advisors who fear Him, that He would grant discernment to those in authority to recognize and reject evil counsel, and that He would expose and dismantle every ungodly alliance that seeks to undermine righteousness. Let the schemes of the wicked be brought to nothing, and let the plans of the Lord stand forever (Psalm 33:10-11). We ask that the Lord would bind the influence of those who spread false prophecies and teachings, for *"the prophet who speaks deceitfully, he is the tail. For the leaders of this people cause them to err; and those who are led by them are destroyed"* (Isaiah 9:15-16). May the truth of God’s Word prevail, and may His Spirit open the eyes of leaders to see and embrace His ways.
We also lift up the cause of free speech and the unhindered proclamation of the Gospel, for it is only through the preaching of Christ crucified that souls are saved and nations transformed. Let the Lord break every chain that seeks to silence the truth, and let His Word run swiftly to the ends of the earth (Psalm 147:15). We pray for boldness among believers to speak the Word without fear, and for doors to open wide for the Gospel to be proclaimed in every nation, that repentance and faith in Christ may abound.
For those leaders who seek to govern with integrity and align themselves with God’s worldview, we give thanks, and we ask the Lord to strengthen them, surround them with godly counsel, and protect them from the snares of the enemy. May they be like Joseph and Daniel—men and women of wisdom, favor, and unwavering faith in the midst of corrupt systems. And for those leaders who do not yet know Him, we pray for divine encounters that lead to salvation, that they may bow the knee to Jesus Christ and govern with the fear of the Lord.
We put on the full armor of God, standing firm against the spiritual forces of darkness that seek to manipulate and deceive those in authority. Let the blood of Jesus cover every leader, and let the angels of the Lord encamp around them, guarding them from the evil one (Psalm 91:10-11). We declare that no weapon formed against God’s purposes will prosper, and every tongue that rises against His people in judgment will be condemned (Isaiah 54:17).
Finally, we thank You, Father, that Your will is perfect, and Your plans cannot be thwarted. You are the God who sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and all the nations are as nothing before You (Isaiah 40:15, 22). We trust You to move mightily in the hearts of leaders, to turn them like rivers of water toward Your purposes, and to bring about a great harvest of souls for Your Kingdom. May Your name be glorified in all the earth, and may Your Kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who alone is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Amen.
