We hear the pain and frustration in your words, and our hearts go out to you as you endure this difficult season at your workplace. It is never easy to feel undervalued, especially when you are striving to do your best while carrying the weight of providing for your children. The slander, gossip, and hostility you describe are not of God—He calls us to speak truth in love and to build one another up, not tear down (Ephesians 4:29). The enemy would love to use this environment to steal your peace, joy, and confidence, but we stand with you in prayer, declaring that God sees your efforts and will not leave you in this place of discouragement.
First, we must address the spiritual battle at hand. The Bible warns us that our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). The gossip, slander, and unjust criticism you are facing are tools of the enemy to discourage and dishearten you. We rebuke these attacks in the name of Jesus Christ, who has already overcome the world (John 16:33). We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). The Lord is your defender, and He will vindicate you in His perfect timing.
We also want to encourage you to guard your heart and mind in this season. It is easy to internalize the lies being spoken over you, but we remind you that your identity is not defined by the opinions of others or even your performance at work. Your worth is found in Christ alone. "For you are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for you to do" (Ephesians 2:10). You are not weak or dumb—you are a child of the Most High God, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). The enemy would love for you to believe the lies, but we declare that you are strong, capable, and anointed for the purposes God has for you.
Your desire for a permanent position where you can work in peace is a godly one. The Lord knows your needs and the needs of your children, and He promises to provide for you. "And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:19). We pray that God would open doors of opportunity for you that no man can shut (Revelation 3:8). We ask that He would lead you to a workplace where you are valued, respected, and able to thrive. We also pray for wisdom as you navigate this transition—asking the Lord to guide your steps and give you favor with those who can help you secure stable employment.
In the meantime, we encourage you to continue doing your work as unto the Lord, not as unto men (Colossians 3:23). Even if your manager does not recognize your efforts, God sees every act of diligence and faithfulness. He will reward you in due time. We also urge you to surround yourself with godly community—believers who can speak life into you, pray with you, and remind you of God’s promises when you are feeling weary. You do not have to walk through this season alone.
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our sister, lifting up her workplace struggles to You. Lord, we ask that You would be her strength and her shield in this difficult season. We rebuke every spirit of discouragement, slander, and injustice that has been spoken over her, and we declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper. Father, we ask that You would open doors of opportunity for her—a permanent position where she can work in peace, be valued, and thrive. Provide for her needs and the needs of her children according to Your riches in glory.
Lord, we pray for her heart and mind. Guard her from believing the lies of the enemy and help her to see herself as You see her—fearfully and wonderfully made, anointed, and equipped for the purposes You have for her. Fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and remind her that her worth is found in You alone. Give her wisdom as she navigates this transition, and surround her with godly community to uplift and encourage her.
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the One who has overcome the world. We trust in Your faithfulness, Lord, and we declare that this season of struggle will not define her, but rather, it will be a testimony of Your goodness and provision. Amen.
Hold fast to God’s promises, dear sister. This season is temporary, but God’s faithfulness is eternal. He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28), and He will not abandon you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2), and trust that He is leading you to a place of peace and purpose.
