Working with the Boss

Dear Lord Jesus, This former of mine I keep praying for will be working with his Boss tomorrow. Please make sure things go well tomorrow. And help his job. In Jesus Name Amen.

We join you in lifting up this man from your past before the Lord and we thank you for bringing his work need to us in prayer in the name of Jesus. We are encouraged that you prayed in Jesus' name, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father, as Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6.

We understand you still care for this former person in your life and want to see God bless his work tomorrow as he works alongside his boss. We pray with you that God would give him favor, wisdom, peace, and diligence in his duties. We are reminded that whatever we do, we are to work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23, and to commit our deeds to Yahweh, and our plans shall succeed Proverbs 16:3. When we work unto the Lord with a humble and faithful spirit, we honor God and reflect Christ even before those in authority over us.

We also want to gently encourage you regarding this former relationship. If this is a former boyfriend or someone you once courted, we pray that God would give you both clarity and peace about His will for your lives. We believe courtship should be with the purpose of discerning marriage to a fellow believer in Christ, for marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman that honors God. We pray that if it is God's will for you to have any future together, it would be centered on Christ and moving toward a godly marriage, and if not, that God would help you both to release one another with grace and to seek His perfect plan. In all things we know that to those who love God, all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28.

We pray together for him now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this man to You and we ask that You would be with him tomorrow as he works with his boss. Grant him skill in his hands, clarity in his mind, and gracious words in his interactions. Let there be peace and understanding between him and his boss, and let his work be done with excellence as unto You. We ask that You would establish the work of his hands and provide for his needs through this job, and open doors for him to grow and to provide honestly. We also pray for the one who submitted this request, that You would guard her heart, give her wisdom regarding this former relationship, and draw them both closer to Jesus. Lead them both to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to entrust both his job and your own heart to the Lord, and to not be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God Philippians 4:6. God hears your faithful prayers and He is working even when we cannot see.

We noticed how faithfully you have been lifting up this former friend in prayer, and how much tomorrow means to you. It is a kind thing to carry someone else's workday before the Lord.

We are joining you in asking for a steady, respectful day for him with his boss. Work relationships can feel weighty, especially when you want to do well and make a good impression. It helps to remember God sees both his effort and the pressures his boss may be carrying too.

A simple next step that might help you tomorrow is to pause briefly at the start of his shift and pray the same short prayer you prayed here, then release the outcome to the Lord through the day rather than watching anxiously for updates. That can keep your heart at peace while you continue to care.

We are praying for you as well, for peace as you wait and trust.

Father in Jesus name we lift up this man going to work tomorrow. Give him clarity, calm and diligence in his tasks, and give his boss fairness and patience. Guide their interaction and provide for his job needs according to Your will. Comfort the one who prayed, and help them both rest in Your care. Amen.

Your prayer for this man has been heard and we join you in bringing him before the throne of grace. It is a good and tender thing to carry another soul in prayer, and especially to ask for the Lord to be with him in the duties and trials of his daily work.

We are reminded that our God is not far from the concerns of our calling. He who orders all things has appointed our work and our place in it, and He is able to give wisdom and favour even in the presence of those who are over us. As Job proved, the Lord is sovereign over all our losses and gains, and it is written of that tried servant, In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. When the heart is stayed upon God, the mole hills of daily trouble and the Alps of greater grief alike become places where grace may be displayed.

You have done well to say, Call, and I will answer. The Lord has taught us to wait till our heavenly Father has spoken, and to speak with Him in return. Such communion is the privilege of those who come through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other way of access, and no other name by which we must be saved. If we would know His help in temporal things, we must first know His mercy in eternal things, and that mercy is found only as we trust His dear Son who bore our sins upon the Cross and rose again.

Let us pray together for him.

O Lord our God, who art our dwelling place and our strength, we ask Thee to look upon this man tomorrow as he labours with his master. Grant him diligence and a quiet spirit, and keep him from all that would dishonour Thee. Give him skill for his task and grace to act uprightly, that he may be found faithful in that which is committed to him. Above all, we pray that Thou wouldst turn his heart fully to Thyself, that he may know forgiveness and freedom and favour through faith in Christ, and load him daily with Thy benefits. Let his work be ordered by Thy providence, and let whatever befall work for Thy glory and his good. We ask also for the one who prays, that Thou wouldst keep this burden upon the heart in holy love, yet with full submission to Thy will, seeking first Thy kingdom and righteousness.

We know that the night shall not hang its darkness for ever over our souls, for the Lord turned again the captivity of Job when he prayed. So we leave this matter with Thee, believing that Thou wilt do what is right and best, and that Thou wilt anoint Thy people with fresh oil as they wait upon Thee. May both souls learn to find their home in Thee, for there the weary find rest and the tried find comfort, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
