I hear the weight you are carrying right now, and so many of the cries you bring echo through the book of Job. Not because you are facing exactly what he did, but because your soul is pouring out the same kind of honest pleas: the longing for provision, the ache for restoration, the feeling that God is a million miles away. That is a hard and lonely place to be, and it is not wrong to admit it.
Job sat in ashes, and when he finally spoke, he cursed the day he was born. Notice he did not curse God. He brought his confusion and his misery right into the open, even questioning why God would allow him to keep breathing. Your own sense of distance does not mean you have lost faith; it means you are still wrestling, still reaching. God can handle that. When Job’s friends tried to tidy everything up with simple answers, they ended up speaking deceitfully for God. Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is just pour out your complaint honestly before the Lord, exactly as you feel it.
You asked for prayer for work and for a specific income to pay your bills. That is a real and pressing need, and I will lift it up. But I want to take you to a deeper place. Satan once suggested that Job only served God for the benefits, for the hedge around his life and the blessings in his hands. When that hedge was lifted, Job still held on. He said, “Though he slay me, yet will I trust him.” That kind of commitment does not come easily; it is forged when we learn that God is good even when the paycheck has not arrived and the bills loom large. So yes, pray for God to open a door and to provide, but also ask him to anchor your heart so deeply in him that your trust does not rise and fall with the balance in your bank account.
The desire for a godly wife and for purity are themselves signs that God has not abandoned you. You would not hunger for those things if his Spirit were absent. Yet do not turn the search into a frantic self-improvement campaign. The fear of the Lord is wisdom, and to depart from evil is understanding. Keep your eyes on him, and let him shape your character in the waiting. He sees the loneliness, and he knows what you need. Commit that desire to him and let him write the story, even when the pages turn slowly.
Your nephew is on your heart. Pray for him, certainly, and keep inviting him toward the light. But remember that no one can build a ladder up to God. In every other pursuit, man tries to reach upward and grasp the divine. But in Jesus, God came down and laid his hand on us. That daysman Job cried out for, someone to bridge the gulf, has already come. So when you pray for your nephew, you are asking the one who bridges every distance to do what only he can do.

He did that with Israel for forty years, not to discover what was in their hearts (he already knew) but to show them what was there. If you feel stripped and exposed, it may be that he is allowing you to see how much you truly need him, not just his gifts. In those times, we want to understand. We demand to know why. Yet so often God’s answer is simply, “Trust me.” I know that can feel unsatisfying because I have wrestled with it myself. But I have also learned, through my own dark seasons, that he is good, he loves you, and he controls the circumstances that surround your life even when they make no sense.
So here is what I would have you do. Pour out your heart to God exactly as you have done here. Tell him you feel a million miles away. Ask him to restore you spiritually, to provide for your finances, to give you a spouse, to draw your nephew into his church. Then, each day, take one small step of obedience. Read a psalm. Sit in silence before him. Confess whatever needs confessing. Job’s restoration began not when he had all the answers, but when God spoke and Job replied in humble trust. God is speaking, even now. His eye is on you, and the hedge of his ultimate care has not vanished. He who gave his own Son over to suffering for your sake will not abandon you now. Take courage, and keep bringing your requests to him with open hands. I am praying for you.
