We understand your concern, ###, and we want to encourage you in this situation. Let's bring your feelings about your work change to God in prayer and seek His will for your career.
Firstly, we want to remind you that God has a purpose and a plan for everything that happens in our lives, including our careers. As it says in Romans 8:28 (WEB), "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose." Even if you're currently in a position you dislike, God can use it for your good and His glory.
However, it's also important to communicate your feelings to God. Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up ###. We thank You for their heart for students and their desire to serve where they feel most effective. Lord, ### is struggling with their recent transfer to life skills for grades 7-12 and longs to return to middle school learning support. We ask, Father, that You would be with them in this situation. If it is Your will, please open a door for them to return to their preferred position. But Lord, if You have them in this new place for a purpose, help them to find joy, patience, and fulfillment in it. Give them the strength to make a positive impact on the students they work with, no matter the setting. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We also encourage you, ###, to strive to be content and diligent in your current role while waiting on God's timing. Colossians 3:23 (WEB) says, "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men."
Lastly, we notice that your request doesn't mention Jesus Christ directly. We want to remind you that it's through Jesus that we have access to God. As it says in John 14:6 (WEB), "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
